App remote heating work in your Porsche Macan Electric

FWIW, I also am experiencing the "pre-heat doesn't actually pre-heat the car anymore" problem since a couple of weeks. It's presumably some Porsche back-end/server-side problem?

I think seat heaters don't work well unless someone is sitting in it (the seat is mostly foam insulation, so little thermal mass and the leather is not a great heat conductor), so maybe they don't turn on because the wont do much until you sit in it. Just a guess.

Indeed. The seat heaters in my cars work exactly as was stated. The drivers side stays on between 'sessions' and the passenger's side goes off every time we get out of the car and it resets. I have never tried to turn them on remotely from the app. I suspect that's not possible but as I said, I have not needed to try it. My passengers just turn them on as needed.

Just been informed by the wife that the rear window demister doesn't seem to activate, as it should, during preconditioning, she also notes that it turns of very quickly and the rear window is nowhere near clear.

Has anyone else notices this, I check the manual and it is supposed to activate, and also checked and seems no setting to activate this feature

From my Taycan experience there was no separate app control for the rear demister. Enabling pre-conditioning would automatically engage the HV heater for AC heating / cooling, steering wheel heating, door mirror heating, windscreen heating (on Macan EV with this option) and seat heating automatically. Not all features would activate as it depended on the ambient temp. At some point you could control seat heating but originally at launch (2020) not.

The rear demister when switched on manually stays on for around 10 mins but potentially with the preheat / precondition / preclimate (called many things across all regions) it may determine that the rear window doesn't require the demister to be on or on briefly which might explain your situation.
