MY’2026 Configurator Changes - New Macan Options Added

Once again BMW iX M60 software 1, Porsche = less than 1. Its digital key function via the phone worked without a single failure during the time we owned it, and then of course also it also came with a thin “credit card” that did the same— which I left in my wallet in case my phone broke, was stolen, or ran out of juice (redundancies thankfully none of which ever happened).

The nfc card was also useful for valet parking. Most valets understand the concept of the card, you just have to tell them where to put it to let the car start.

I'd be shocked if Porsche's implementation isn't identical to BMWs, and it may even include an NFC card as a backup. That would be lacking if they offer an update (paid or not) to give it to pre-existing cars, and unfortunately that would make it impractical to use since nobody is going to give their phone to a valet attendant.

Well, my Slate Grey Neo 4s built to ~$111k just landed in Freeport (which is the new Houston port for Porsche drops by automotive vessels).

...I'm still waiting for confirmation on the key matter from anyone in the know (the people at my dealership seem to be making stuff up). I'll be slightly annoyed if this ends up being unavailable to those of us who are about to take delivery.

I'm like a a dog with a bone on this matter. But whatever. Two more years of carrying a Keyfob on ONE of the cars in our garage. (24-month lease is my game plan).

What do these caveats mean to you guys?: "Precondition Porsche Digital Key: Pre-configuration of convenience access (4E6) and Smartphone with at least iOS 16.0 or Android 8.0."

car should have comfort access and you need a recent phone running the latest OS (iOS or Android) - they don't support your 2009 blackberry - LOL

Yep that's what I gathered from it too, BUT, you can line item configure your Macan EV with Comfort Access, but exclude Porsche Digital Key ($280).

...so they are different but reliant on one another somehow. And being a 2025, my imminent delivery clearly won't have Porsche Digital Key but does have Comfort Access.

So it's more and more feeling like a software switch than are charging you to enable at the time of production.. Fingers crossed they can do it at service.

One other interesting thing. Comfort Access checkmark item cannot be removed even from the BASE Macan. I started a configuration with the entry level car and no options, but Comfort Access was checked. (I was trying to see if you could add the Porsche Digital Key without Comfort Access, but I couldn't remove C.A.)

We must be ship mates. SIEM Cicero has taken its sweet time but I’m scheduled to pick up the car Aug 22.

NICE! Congrats. Last time I special ordered, the car got up to Denver within 72 hours of the vessel docking.

Out of curiosity if they do include it somehow are you expecting it will be free?

I wish it were free like RIVN, TSLA, Hyundai, Volvo, Lucid, Polestar, etc... but I've owned enough Porsches to assume a $280 bill.

If they give you two key cards with the purchase then that would be fine, I think.

FWIW this would be similar to Porsche’s “functions on demand” where Taycans were able to add Innodrive and other features after purchase. However I don’t think they’ve supported that on the newer Android based OS yet.

I think they got rid of it as well even in the older OS for the taycan.

Still no change to the UK configurator. I see they still haven't made Remote Park available as the Taycan, even in the updated US Configurator

I'm also looking for this feature to become available however after briefly appeared almost a month ago in a couple of configurators - including German - unfortunately it vanished again and never reappeared ever since.My only hope now is the feature to become available sometime for existing cars as well.

Looks like some new backgrounds in the configurator. There seems to be more detail in the leather photos. I LOVE that the deviated stitching is now included.

For those who were hoping for some nice new color options, I guess the popping Chalk will have to do.

LOVE chalk! It looks like that replaced Copper Ruby Metallic in the legends paint color.
