I'm hoping that Porsche Digital Key is just a software update -- which we are expecting in a few months I think.

The 2026 configurator has gone live in NZ and describes the feature "Comfort Access including Porsche Digital Key" as 4E6, which my car already is equipped with.

Does it yet work with just your phone (no key fob around)? Our phone perfectly everytime as a “key fob” for our iX including starting our car functioning.

Yeah our iX M60 works the same way, and has done since new with Apple Carley. I expect the Porsche implementation to be the same.

I hope so also - but will be surprised if they offer it as a retrofit - even more surprised if it does not require a dealer visit…

I'm dubious that it does not require new hardware but would be very very pleasantly surprised if it does not

it is entirely plausible that MY 2024/2025 vehicle's have the correct hardware, but it's equally plausible they do not - even if they do have the correct hardware Porsche may choose to not make the necessary software available to prior year model vehicle's - even though they could - they may choose not to…or they may not be able to do so for technical reasons…

basically it's a crap shoot…

I’m just basing it on the facts we know: the car has UWB already, its not new technology, the option codes are the same, and it just feels like it missed MY24/25 because of time to complete the PCM software additions that are required.

Time will tell, but yep, I’d expect a dealer software update might be required. I think we’ll see a big PCM and module software update fairly soon. We know it’s being worked on as the development and test environment for Macan software was featured in a YT video that appeared a few months back.

I agree it's possible - the question is how likely is it?

I'll be first in line if they offer the "retrofit" - but historically Porsche doesn't do this sort of thing - finger's crossed…

It won’t be a retrofit - if it requires new hardware it won’t happen. Taycan has had some fairly major software updates - it would be along those lines.

Has anyone noticed there's no "Surround 360 view with active parking support" anymore under "Technology/Assistance Systems"?

a lot of "options" have moved into the "standard equipment" Assistance section - guess it was no longer competitive for Porsche to charge for these "options" - hmmmm…

Best best best case scenario … it’s a software update (not holding my breathe) but you will have to pay for it. Remember it’s a PAID option for MY2026, so odds of us getting it for free is slim IMHO

Then on top of that they would have to figure out how to charge for it. Previously with the taycan they had the on demand services which would be the way to do it but they got rid of it …

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised though

...and so my previous question arises again:Now that I have already ordered my 4S including in my built many of the options which now are offered as a standard and free of charge and car productions begins early September what will happen?Same counts for the rear airbags,in MY2026 is offered as standard. Will the price I payed for such options when I made my order be deducted from the total sum?Or I'm paying for something which now is offered for free and included in the car as standard anyway?

Just mentioned it some posts back, earlier today!Copper Ruby gone,Papaya also gone only to be replaced just by Chulk.Seems like they try to steer prospective buyers towards PTS.Every other Porsche model and especialy the Taycan has enormous color choices as well as 2 PTS options.Pretty unfair for the new Macan EV IMO.
Except PTS is actually quite hard to get. Most times they will say no, there is just a fair amount of demand.
