The Porsche Digital Key definitely requires different hardware than the physical key. There is typically an NFC reader in the door handles. At least that's what my Mercedes EQS indicates. So, It's quite possible it was included in our 24-25 builds, and activated via software update. But if the hardware was not included, not gonna happen. Attached is a screen shot of the MB Owners manual.

Noticed that if you select the 3D Surround view option it automatically deselects the Porsche digital key option. So either the 3D Surround view option includes it or something's conflicting. Interesting.

In the US, Digital Key is a $280 option on its own but 3D Surround + Digital Key is a bundle option, so of course the standalone one would get deactivated or you'd be double-charged. Guessing Canada just hasn't updated the labeling to match.

The required hardware for Porsche Digital Key is the UWB Comfort Access package (4E6), which is the same as it was in 2024 and 2025. It is now standard equipment rather than optional, however (at least in the US).

Dear god, please no. The sum total of absolute nonsense on this topic is really too much.

1. Yes, every Macan with Comfort Access has the required hardware. There is no such thing as "non-compliant UWB hardware" available on the market for Porsche to put in, no matter what people may choose to "speculate".
2. Porsche Digital Key does not require you to open an app, pull out your phone, or tap anything anywhere to open the door and drive. It is proximity-based, exactly like the existing UWB key fobs everyone with Comfort Access already uses.
3. Because it works with Apple CarKey, you can delegate the key with your phone to up to 7 other users, and revoke access to those users as you wish.
4. Yes, it still works when you don't have cell service and even if your phone battery is "dead" (within a few hours).
5. No, there is no guarantee that Porsche will bother to make it available to 2024-25 customers via software update, either for free or for purchase.

Since the Apple Car Key is essentially an “App” Feature and given the hardware exists on previous models it could also become an option you can pay for in the app. Similar to “Porsche Connect”, which is included for 10 years here in Switzerland.

On the basis that these haven’t been released yet none of the updates will be on the UK configurator. - 2025 still.

Under the "Interior" section below the 3 usual ones there are 3 new options all of them personalized.

Great, thank you. That's new for me. It wasn't in the configuator for Spain last I checked. I think that I am okay with the black brushed aluminum sill guards

Edit: I just verified that these are not yet in the configuator for Spain. Any info about the LED courtesy lights?

I asked Porsche Customer Service in the UK and this was their response -

Thank you for reaching out to Porsche Cars Great Britain Limited regarding the entertainment features of the New Electric Macan.

Currently, we do not have information on the backward compatibility of these features with previous models. However, should this functionality become available in the future, all owners will be promptly notified of the upgrade option.

Spain?Your flag here shows you're from US! That's why the excerpt I sent is from the US configurator,I know MY26 isn't available in any European country configurator yet.
