Hey everyone! After a short drive today we tried to open the DC charging flap, but it won’t move at all — it’s completely stuck. We locked the car, left it for about 30 minutes, and came back to the same issue. Thankfully we’re at home so we can still AC charge from the other side, but the DC flap just won’t budge.

Now we’re basically stuck for the weekend since the dealer/service is closed and we can’t DC charge.

Does anyone know if there’s a manual release or latch for the DC flap? This was the main reason why I did not even look at the electric flap when speccing the car, to avoid these things..

Did it open after they returned your car? If you haven't it may be stuck for various reason and wouldn't force it. There is a manual release for automatic flap but not sure it is the same for mechanical.

Yes, it opened a few times because I mainly AC-charge on that side as well.. I agree with you, not going to force it but I am pretty stuck now it seems.

Do you have mechanical or automatic flaps.

Me too after problems with first one. They needed to replace entire system on both sides. Really strange. As other flap opens normally it's not one of those hidden functionalities to prevent accidental opening. Seems more like mechanical problem. Porsche needs to have a look anyway, even if you can open it. You are dependent on this for longer drives.

Was afraid that it was the only solution. I really appreciate your comment and help as usual, will have to reach out to them on Monday then!

I had to reach the end of this thread just to understand what you mean.
As far as I understand one of your manual charge port doors will not open, specifically the one which also houses the DC flap (the small spring loaded cover for the DC pins).
Sorry cannot provide any help other than disregard any info in the above post, that emergency release is for the plug at the end of your charging cable in case the car will not release the small pin holding it.

Thx for clarifying. You are correct, clearly didn't read the text. Fail.

Yes, you are correct. I guess I’m stuck until Monday.

Out of Spec Dave had the same problem with a manual flap. They had the issue charging at a Porsche dealership and this how it was solved Yours may be the same problem.
