I ordered a bespoke Macan 4 on 19 December, and the app is telling me to expect delivery at the end of March. So yes, about 3 months (taking into account the Christmas break). The SA said at the time that their dealership were about to ‘bid’ for March builds.

Thanks for the info, I better get a move on and commit or drop the idea! Dealer did already hint at a deal, so we'll see how much that plays out.

My regular drive is an M5, current average is ~27p/mile cost of fuel alone. I have had several M cars over the past 10 years, and was doing >100 mile round trip commute; that means fill up every 3-4 days with BP Ultimate or Shell V Power+. Change the car at ~50k miles, so every 2-2.5 years. PCP no good with that mileage, and M cars do take a depreciation hit anyway, but overall I love the drive and wanted to 'enjoy' the journey to work!

Macan EV is not really about cost saving, I like a good drive, never had a Porsche, BMW interiors uninspiring (to me), and being a techie, I want to try the EV tech (even though it continues to improve quite quickly). Should I get the Macan, I hope I don't regret the adventure. I've stuck with BMW for 30 years, but they are just copying Tesla/Chinese now, and I don't like the direction.
Porsche tech is lagging so beware. Porsche is about driving period.

I ordered my Macan 4 last July and it has only now been built with delivery middle to end of March (I’m away for a bit around that time, complicating matters). So, a very long lead time…. Nothing to fancy spec-wise, either.

It’s also a company car with Porsche Reading fulfilling the order.

I’m also moving away from 28-odd years with BMW, with this being my first Porsche.
Ix3?

Will leave the Macan EV in the tech / range doldrums for a wee while and better priced.

My options on a 4S were up to ~£22/23k, but there’s still for £3k on wheels and £3k on Burmester 😂!
Sound Plus is good enough - don't waste your money on a mediocre implementation or set your expectations lower on what should be a premium audible experience. It's a car remember...

As I’ve mentioned before, the interior, specifically panoramic dash, looks like something I don’t want. And they’ve doubled down on heating controls via the screen only, which is a fail.

i did actually price one again yesterday, essentially £70k with most required options, and that is £30k less than a GTS with options. No doubt the BMW tech will be good, but the interior killed the idea for me.

Dealer said if I do a factory order by mid-March, delivery will be May, so yes, 2-3 months currently.

How about Macan EV discounts in 2026?

Indeed, and that does turn people off. Total crap really the government of the day flip-flopping the rules.
Discounts I got 7% in the Netherlands, plus a load of goodies, including discount on install of dash cam, the porsche cool bag/box that plugs in the 12v socket, key rings, champagne, and a really nice limited edition porsche 911 silhouette ornament. you need to negotiate

knew it was coming but it hadn’t been properly announced when I was looking at options last May/June. Not too keen on the interior (more the materials) and that bluff nose…. Plus I had to get out of my old car by this Feb anyway and iX3 is only now really rolling out.

Porsche is a scratch I’ve been thinking about itching for a while, so decided to take the plunge.

Proof is in the pudding. I suspect BMW's button less implementation will be better.

The rest is cosmetic.

I have a cool bag too from years ago - one thing it doesn't do is cool. Hope you like your champagne warm! Enjoy!

Cosmetic yes, but I don’t like it. I’ve experienced the buttonless BMW implementation for several years, it’s just not as convenient. Several other manufacturers have already reversed this trend and restored physical buttons, and FWIW, Jonathan Ive designed the new Ferrari Luce interior and he says “screen only is not right for vehicles” in a recent interview. Everyone has a choice.

However, I think BMW software is generally stable, but it seems like Porsche has a way to go on that front.

I’ve found that Porsche Reading tend to quote longer delivery times for salary sacrifice/company car orders.

A workaround is to place the order through another Porsche Retail Group centre, such as Porsche Hatfield or Porsche East London. In my experience, they’re more likely to secure the earliest possible build slot, even if the order is ultimately processed through Reading behind the scenes.

I agree - I couldn't live with iPad looking screen - looks like an afterthought.
