Compass intermittent function

I set my custom display to display the compass and sometimes it works properly and sometimes it does not. Anyone experiencing the same?

No, suburbs driving.

Is it usually the first X minutes after starting the car when it had been off for an extended period? If so it could be it has to recalibrate the compass for some reason and needs you to drive in circles a few times (doing donuts would work).

That sounds like a really good guess, be interested to see if other folks observe this. Hell, GPS is not really accurate for the first 50 or so feet traveled until triangulation and lock happens when you startup

Actually, when I start the car the compass works fine then it stops working randomly. Once it stops, it stays off until the car is off and then on again.

I just picked up Macan 4 yesterday. Same issue.

Same issue here. And yet it works perfectly on the passenger display. Altitude and compass always work there, proving the data is available. But it's often missing on the driver screen. Especially in the middle of the mountains when I care about altitude.

Software update at the dealer fixed it.

Neither the compass nor the altitude (if selected) work in this display is you’re using a CarPlay navigation (Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps). Must be using Porsche navigation. . . In my experience.
