The compass and elevation seem to be inconsistent when CarPlay is active or when CarPlay is being used for navigation. I have had it work and not work under both of those conditions. I am wondering if how the phone connects to the car effects if the compass and elevation are active. I think the phone can connect to the car in three ways but I am not sure; wifi, Bluetooth or wired connection. Have not had a chance to run through these three options to see if they have an effect but it would be a good option to check.
