Just a quick update on the original issues of this thread. I called my local Porsche service center, for about the tenth time, regarding my car's inability to charge at home (without the voltage regulator trick). This time they said to bring the car right in, they'll fix it. So I drove in...
Want to bring this message back into new messages since, now 10 months into ownership, this still appears. Hope someone can come up with a solution to this annoying issue.

I'd just add that while Scottdale is at a much lower elevation than Durango, the route from Durango to Scottsdale involves a lot of up and downhill elevation changes including heading over a pass higher than Durango early in the trip. Most of the drop in elevation occurs in the last 100 miles...
I'd just mention that when they say it's power fluctuation not voltage fluctuation, power (wattage) is the product of voltage and amperage (W=VxA). So saying its the power not the voltage is a bit off.

Actually, many of us had the same timeline and story as you. My charging issues started a couple of months after updating to the latest software and had problems with both level 1 and 2 charging start as described in this forum.

Sorry, just saw this question. Two answers: Here in Denver, Colorado it’s been unseasonably warm most of the winter and especially for the last several weeks. So I assume that could have various effects on house voltage etc. If you were wondering if the car itself was cold, my home garage where...
I’m quoting myself here because after this flippant remark, I went to my garage and, after weeks of my 220v Tesla charger giving errors every time I tried to charge, and having to use the 110v “switcheroo” procedure to charge at home, I plugged in to the Tesla wall charger this evening and — it...
Seems a pretty good demonstration that this is a Porsche problem, not a charger problem. Sorry to hear that. Looking forward to what Porsche’s reaction and response is.

Wow! I'm going to go right out and see if my car has healed itself. Not hopeful since I try it nearly every day just to see if something's changed. Inconsistency like this is even worse that consistently bad.

Mine did not come with both adapters. They told me they banned the 120V plug due to fire hazards, so that’s why mine didn’t come with it.

So far, no fires. Will keep an eye out for one. 😉

I just looked at the Weathertech website. The images of the cargo liner for the Macan electric show a mat the doesn't have as high a side protector as my OEM cargo liner. I just took an image of my car with the (dirty) cargo liner in place. I'll try to post it in this message. Feel free to...
Couple of other things to try. . .
Try going to your local EA In the middle of the night when no other cars are charging and see if that helps. Also try calling the EA phone number on the charger while connected and see if they can trouble shoot.

Just a quick update.
I’ve now used the “switcheroo” technique several times over the last week as I was afraid my success might have been a one-off. Each time I charged at home I tried the 220v Tesla home charger first and each time it failed to connect. I then switched on my voltage regulator...
So sorry to hear this didn't work for you. There are many posts in this and other threads in which this procedure has been successful. You might want to turn the car off and let the car sit overnight and try again in the morning. If no success I hope you can return the voltage regulator.

Interesting that you bring up travel charging at L1/L2 chargers. I had been relieved that the voltage regulator trick had worked for me and thought, since I'm planning a near cross-country trip in a couple of months, I have a solution that would allow me to charge at hotel stops by bringing the...
I did exactly as you initially described in your note. I plugged the 110v into the driver’s side charge port. I waited until there was a green surround on the button and interior lights all went green. I further waited until I saw the power starting to climb on the center screen. Then I pressed...
I purchased this for $79 on Amazon. For $13 less you can get one with a pointer meter instead of a digit one.
