Considering that the Macan is Made for different Regions of the world. There are some features that are coded out for certain places.
I was told the Matrix lights for Germany are configured to play/show a sequence when starting up. That option was removed for the US Market I was told.

So here comes of course the need for Coding.

Can anyone advice for any good coding tools/options for the Macan. I am used to BMW coding but on the Porsche side this is my first Macan Turbo I own.

Thank you very much.

Not sure this specific example is region related.

the light sequence is linked to the headlight blue or black exclusive option (on top of the Matrix leds)

yes you are right. I labeled it wrong i was referring to the head light not the Matrix lights. Thank you for the correction.

I used to code on the Ford Mustang Mach-e and it was fairly inexpensive to get the tools too.
Not as much the case with Porsche, you'll need a tool called PIWIS.

I dont even know what I want to do, just want to see whats possible. As a BMW owner we have lots of options. But the big ones for me would be removing the warning screen when I use Siri (and not with car play)...

@joeev I thought all the matrix headlight features were enabled now? I'm sure they are at least here in Canada... not sure how they are handled in the USA market? I thought they were approved and dealers were instructed to activate them for people. but I have not followed this for the USA market.

What is the situation with Matrix headlights? I'm 100% sure mine are fully enabled here in Canada (but maybe someone will comment different?), and its actually really good however they are currently setup.

I'm speaking from the US market. I think you're right about it working in Canada. I recently read a thread where a taycan owner (I think) had their matrix lights coded in the US and when he took his car in for service, he told his advisor "Don't worry if the car thinks it's Canadian". 😂

Ahh that makes sense, hopefully we find a coding solution for the Macan EV then... I'd like to poke around and see what can be tweaked :)

Maybe you can bring your EV up to Canada, tell them you are moving here and get them to code it in for you :)

is this correct? The tinted and blue Matrix lights have a exclusive startup animation?

The point of the Matrix lights is that it selectively dims the lights only in the direction of other cars in front of you, so you can keep the headlights on all the time. Unfortunately, the US regulators require a dimming response time that's fast enough that no current system on the market can meet it. (This demand is much faster than a human could respond, and it's much faster than other markets, like Europe, or apparently, Canada.)

@jwatte the response time I have seen, has been excellent. Not a single issue on with on coming drivers. I think the fact the sensor is up high, and the lights are really low, makes for a suitable response time that doesn't seem to upset anyone. Hopefully the US regulators will accept the current programming/response time - I drive a great deal on country rounds in a place with a dark sky's policy and I am truly amazed with the quality of this lighting system. It would be nice for the USA drivers to be able to enjoy it also.

If this was in response to my comment. I’m aware of how the matrix headlight functions. If you check the quoted comment, there was specifically a comment about start up animations (light patterns etc) that were not exclusive to the non tinted Matrix headlights, and only to the tinted and blue. I was checking on this point as I’d never heard that before.
