EV's win in a drag race - that's their clear party trick… yawn  move on.

NOTE: a $57k Tesla Model Y will give the $1,000,000 918 Spyder a run for it's money in a drag race

my opinion - Porsche Marketing at it's worst - this is not a meaningful comparision

an overprice EV SUV racing against an unobtainable million $ halo-car … - seriosly it's in the name - there were only 918 918's made…

maybe Porsche should make their PCM software startup faster or crash less - that would be more significant than this little exercise.

does the Cayenne EV have meaningful OTA updates? or did we spend all our time making it match a performance number that will get you arrested for felony speeding on 99% of the roads you'll drive it on?

Fun video - racing a modern SUV against an iconic Porsche benchmark and showing the potential of new technology. Brilliant! I have no need to read anything deeper into it than that.

I tend to disagree, a meaningful comparison would likely end up in a marketing disaster.

Porsche believes 911 Turbo S in the hands of regular customer is quicker around the track than 911 GT3. GT3 will be quicker if driven by professional.

911 Turbo S will beat Cayenne EV Turbo hands down, but there is a significant price difference.

Cayenne EV Turbo vs. similar priced 911 GTS, my money would be on Cayenne.

There is no question, the 911 is the more engaging and more fun to drive car, but that's subjective. Quantitative, comparable measure is track time. Porsche can't really marketing Cayenne being quicker than 911 GTS. The sound of the Aston Martin F1 Safety/Medical Car is amazing (haven't seen Ferrari and Lamborghini on the track). If they get the artificial sound right and Porsche active ride is close to Panamera, the Cayenne will be the bargain of the century. Just my opinion.

It’s amusing to observe people who don’t relish the era when SUVs can outpace supercars and sports cars. SUVs aren’t designed for such performance and are significantly more affordable. It won’t be long before electric vehicles become lighter and surpass all competitors. It’s an inevitable trend.
