you should avoid multiple or prolonged use of the My Porsche app as connecting to car remotely drains the 12v
This is useful to know. I'm sure many who may not know, or do know but don't pay heed to it.
So, good to reiterate.

Yes you can. Also, the 12v battery in the 2025 Macan EV is a AGM battery, not LiO. But, I suspect that if you have the ā€œrear axle steeringā€ option with the Macan, then it may come with a LiO battery, as it does with the 992.1.

Still AGM, I have RWS.
If you don't trickle charge the 12v I can guarantee you will at some point return to a dead Macan 😁

Maybe, but at least on 2025, and newer Macan EV’s, when the 12v battery reaches around 11.7v, a protective system kicks in and briefly connects the 12v battery to the traction battery (with the appropriate voltage). I have proof of that using my Anti-Gravity battery monitor. I was also told this by my dealership. But most new premium EV manufacturers also do this…so this is not a surprises, and makes perfect sense.

For those that doubt this…I would invite them to get a battery monitoring system (e.g., Anti-gravity battery monitor from Amazon for about $35). Well worth the peace of mind. But you either have to artificially drain the battery, or wit until it drops to 11.7 v or lower….you will see the big brother battery help out it’s little 12v brother. It only stays connected for a few minutes…but enough to bring the 12v battery level to at least turn things on in the car.

As far as Li for Rear axle steering…It was standard on all 992.1 (and maybe 992.2) with the rear axle steering option. It was a requirement because something about the RAS system that needed a greater surge current that Li batteries could provide but standard AGM batteries could not…at least that was the case in 2022 and 2023. You can find that in the Porsche literature. FYI - also the Li 12v battery on the 992.1 was extremely expensive (over $2k to replace, just the battery)….so at the time I configured the car, I tried to get the AGM battery monitor. Porsche told me, that’s a no go.

Yes same as all Macan EVs and as said it works up to a point until it doesn’t, may be 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, etc. Lots & lots of dead EVs of all brands suffered the same fate, if you don’t have time to muck about just use the trickle charger.
Charge in HV battery is irrelevant you can have 100%, once the 12v has died everything is dead. It’s the 12v that runs everything.
Every time the 12v battery wakes up the car/HV battery both get depleted as several modules need to boot, then dc-dc converter is used to charge it, at some point it gives up and you’re locked out frantically typing into your phone how do I access my xxx once the 12v battery has died…
