Another extensive, high quality comparo video, If you wish to forward right to their summary section, it‘s at 34:40.

If you want even a shorter summary, the iX is a softer ride, their using ”driving a giant couch” statement, being cheaper to lease, quieter, bigger inside, and better software. Range is about equal incomparable versions. If you want a well handling, fun to drive, and better looking vehicle, its clearly the Macan.

They did showcase the very best Macan color (without getting into Paint to Sample prices), which is a plus.

I did enjoy that one, I thought it was balanced, or do I have rosey coloured glasses now 😉.

We leased a new iX for over a year as our daily driver. It was a M60 version. It was excellent in many ways but it was just as savagegeese described, that is as fun as driving an oversized couch. It was totally competant but totally unappealing.

Could not trade it back to BMW soonest; thankfully they gave us $1 for $1 back as part of their “early lease return” program. Now we truly love driving our Macan EV. Even trips running errands produce driving smiles. Has our Macan had some software and hardware issue. Yes, in fact a total of eight weeks worth — though to be fair it was one made in the very first month of Macan EV manufacture. But the fun factor when driving ours, especially as we always got a quality Porsche loaner while they fixed ours, has made it all worthwhile. When our Macan’s lease is over we will get another Porsche EV even knowing that it could well have software and/or hardware issues.

To us, driving our cars must be exciting. Our Macan EV is that!

I had an ix xdrive 50 for 2 years before trading it in for a Macan, and I thought that comparison was spot on. I could highlight a couple of things.

Wind noise is bad on the Macan and almost non-existant on the iX. I've gathered that the Porsche noise cancelling glass option dosen't help much from others' posts.

Rattles and squeaks- pop up all over our Macan 4s's, and were non-existant on the iX. We've had 4 Porsches and 6 BMWs, and every Porsche has had rattles/squeaks, while not a single BMW has (even my 1968 1602).

But the Macan is fun to drive, and the iX wasn't. Fast, quiet, yes. Fun, no. Now I'm thinking the electric Cayenne may be my sweet spot.

I couldn’t disagree more regarding the noise-insulating glass option. If you try it yourself in the configurator, you can clearly hear the difference at 100 km/h.

And if that’s not convincing enough, I can personally vouch for it. I had it on my own Macan, and after driving several loaners such as Cayenne E-Hybrids, Taycans, and Macans without the option and I can only say that the difference is very noticeable. Without it, they genuinely sound like a vacuum cleaner in comparison.

Different perspective for we do not have double pane on our Macan EV turbo and it is not noisy to us even when we are in slow traffic, nor on interstates with traffic on both sides, e.g., quiet enough that if we were to get a replacement Macan EV we would not spec the insulated glass.

We agree that the Cayenne EV certainly will be a great option for many.

dammed if you do, dammed if you don't

this is a very good comparison video … conclusions are similar to my opinions.
