Maybe I should create a new thread
Has anyone else experienced this?
There are already threads here from others with the same symptoms. This one's the shortest, with some actionable steps you can take to try to 'fix' it without a dealer (although reporting to the dealer should be done to get Porsche visibility on this, and their cell reset process is better if you can get them to do it)

Thanks! I've missed those discussions. I definitely have the same symptoms as others there.

In an ideal world they would roll-back the OBC firmware to the previous version (as that worked fine) and try again. Should not take more than a day.
Posted the above back in February, took Porsche more than a day (actually several months) but they finally woke up and started doing it, Macan can home charge (proud achievement / laughs in any other EV).
Anyway enough blabbing, download the attached bulletin if you want to read it from the horse's mouth.

Thanks for posting Porsche’s bulletin on the charging problem fix.

I think I’m still going to hold off on the VR28.11 update (Workshop Campaign WSD0) until a revised version is available. Mostly because there is no guarantee that my car is not going to turn out to be one of the affected ones, and I don’t wish to deal with the hassle even if there is a temporary fix.

One of the statements on the bulletin is a bit concerning: “Damage caused by inadequate voltage during programming is not a warrantable defect.”
I suppose the dealership will have to pay for the replacement of the damaged control unit then. However, what if the problem (control unit malfunction) appears afterwards, but likely as a result of a recent dealership performed software update, does that mean that it becomes unclear who pays for its replacement?

I had a long post about charging issues, that I had to delete, and report this....
I just got my car back from service after having 6 weeks of work done, and AC charging would not work. I assumed it was the same issue as everyone was having here, and that the software update they did in Nov 2025 for me, had to be reverted like others have done - they replaced my assist module, and reflashed the car - so the jumping to conclusion was an easy bridge to walk across.

I got a loaner car by a small miracle, another EV. After running the battery down, had to charge on by AC AUTEL charger, but had the exact same issue.

Called AUTEL, they had me do some trouble shooting, such as remove the car profile, and reboot the charger and the car started charging! tried a few times, and everything was back to normal.

In discussions, AUTEL said they upgraded the firmware from 1.36 to 1.38 a few weeks ago (I was away on vacation so first chance to charge it was this weekend - and they have had reports of this issue with this firmware, and think over the next few days a new update will come out to correct it.

The work around seems to be remove the car profile, and reboot. But he did say if it happens again to factory default, and re initialize the charge without adding a car profile and that should allow it to work until they update the firmware

The at issue firmware is:
Charge Control Module 1.38.00 (1.36.00 was the prev version working just fine - I have auto updated enabled)
Power Control Module 1.20.00 (don't know the prev version or if it changed, but the issue seems to be in charge control module)

The local dealer was about to downgrade the software as per what everyone on this thread was recently doing, but that no longer seems required.

Thank you for posting this bulletin notice from Porsche. How did you get a hand on this?

I just finally got my car downgraded and have confirmed the update reversal has fixed my charging issue.

Insane how it took Porsche engineers 4+ months to come up with this “update” 🤦🏻‍♀️ Why couldn’t they have done that as a temporary fix sooner? 🤯

I had the same concern as you when I read that line. I am especially concerned because the software downgrade originally would not take on my vehicle multiple times. Dealership took over a week to get it working with the help of Germany as well. But I guess as long as your car is still under warranty, the dealership will have to cover for it.
