Yes, a team of Porsche engineers from Germany are flying over to my house for proper diagnosis of the issue. They are confirmed for a visiy next Tuesday 8 AM for a full day of diagnosis and hopefully a solution.

Fingers crossed i am sick and tired of having to waste time charging a car at a DC charger which I don't even drive...
this is the most fascinating post on this entire thread - I'm watching with great interest

Wow! I'm going to go right out and see if my car has healed itself. Not hopeful since I try it nearly every day just to see if something's changed. Inconsistency like this is even worse that consistently bad.

Sandy
I’m quoting myself here because after this flippant remark, I went to my garage and, after weeks of my 220v Tesla charger giving errors every time I tried to charge, and having to use the 110v “switcheroo” procedure to charge at home, I plugged in to the Tesla wall charger this evening and — it started charging right away.

So, 1) It’s healed itself, or 2) a magical OTA update has been pushed into the car (least likely), or 3) some condition (voltage, current, temperature, barometric pressure, etc. or combination thereof) has changed to allow this to happen.

Not sending my 110v voltage regulator back just yet.

I think i spoke too soon. After about a 30 mile drive for dinner and arriving back home, I tried one more time just to confirm and it was not working again. Its worth noting the temp had fallen back into the mid to low 30s and was upper 40s to lower 50s when it was working earlier today. I guess I'm keeping my service appointment for next week.

I just received an update from my service advisor, who heard back from their field engineer. The word is that we should supposedly have a software remedy within the next two weeks. I’ll keep the thread posted as I hear more.

First time charging after the update failed but plugging it back in again, it charged. Tried it again tonight and took about 8 attempts before it charged. I swapped out the Porsche’s mobile charger 14-50 plug to the 110 and it took on the second attempt. Unplugged it right away and plugged in my Tesla wall charger and it maintained the charge at 40a.

Scheduled an appointment for service and it’s a month out. Hopefully a fix will be available by then.

Adding my car to the list of issues

2024 Macan 4S
Got the latest update installed mid December and then was travelling for the last two months. I came back and it was not charging at home. When I took it to the dealer they first said I was using the wrong Porsche Charger (it was the one I have been using since I got the car - my 2021 Taycan charger). Regardless, I sent over the 204 charger. I have two separate 40A circuits at home and tried the AC/DC sides no luck. I have a Juicebox that charges my Tesla that was working on the Tesla but no dice on the Macan.
It charged at the dealer and they have given it back to me. I brought it back today and obviously having the same problem. I have just tried the departure time hack and the car is flashing blue, saying charger paused. Will check in a bit. And also try the 110v charger as well.

I will call the dealer on Monday. Also will go try a fast charger near my home tomorrow.

Sucks

Quick update - the departure time hack seems to be working ... for now

this is pure golden 100% dealer service BS - this simply shows how little they actually understand what an EV Charger (EVSE) actually does and how it works…OMG this frustrates me soooooo much…

what they basically were telling you is that you're using the wrong on/off switch…which is simply ridiculous when you put it in those terms…which is in fact what an EVSE actually is - it's an on/off safety switch under control of the vehicle's OBC (on board charger) - and there is no such thing as a 'wrong EVSE' - they are STANDARD by design so that you can use public and private chargers regardless of who made the on/off switch.

OMG - soooo much BS!!! sooo frustrating - they are grasping at straws in order to avoid the logical conclusion that their software update is causing problems - because they understand how much of a f'up that is and how embarrassing it's actually going to be to have to recall all those cars again to fix the problems with their latest update…

My car has been sitting for a week. I’ll run it for a bit then try again. If there’s no solution, then it’s possible that the onboard charger is the culprit…which would explain why my car charged fine after the update, then stopped working all of a sudden.
I’ve posted in this thread a few times, but I’m now nearly certain that I have a DIFFERENT charging issue. My car was not able to charge at the dealership. Others experiencing the charging issues in this thread have successfully charged at this dealership. Will update with whatever they find.

BRILLIANT! It was just a matter of time before a dealer experienced the same location-specific inability of the Macan to tolerate normal North American electrical supply variations that others have experienced. Keep us informed of what excuses they come up with.

I don’t believe my issue is software related or related to any kind of voltage situation. I think my car’s onboard charger may have failed. But will keep you posted.

anyone know if hotel level 2 chargers will work on our broken cars?
it will depend on the voltage - it's NOT the charger that's the problem - it's the voltage from the grid that is causing the problem - it's not the charging hardware - it's the power supply being fed to the charging hardware…

so it may or may not work depending on the grid voltage at the time you plug in.
