When leaving the car turned on, it does not lock automatically, so the sensors are off
if you DO want to lock the car with the sensors disabled, click the lock on the key twice in 2 seconds. (Or the sensor in the door handle)
The manual has a table with all the possibilities
I’m in and out of my garage all day, so the car wakes up and locks all the time when I have my key.
I didn’t know I could turn this off to save a bit of power
I don't need to know their speed. I need to know that I am about to get close enough to them to affect my speed, so I can decide to pull out, or stay in place as traffic passes me and allow the system to slow me down.
This is worse due to me using the long end of the range for the gap to the...
Here's one I learned recently whilst playing with the cruise control options.
When Lane Keep is on with Innodrive, and you signal to pull around a car that you've slowed down a bit for, the acceleration starts immediately back up to cruising speed as you start the lane change
However, if Lane...
Yes it does, BUT this happens only in the left most dial, when configured to show the speed dial. This is not the most useful of dials for me, and I hardly ever use it, so it was a surprise when these popped up one day. The most common ones I see are the 'No Passing' signs that, in the USA, go...
I too have the viofo A329 with the lighter power and the wire tucked away. I have all the parts to use the dash cam pre-wiring for this too, but have yet to look for someone I trust enough to get into the panels to install the power brick in the mirror housing and the rear camera via the...
Based on BfG's experience above, I'd guess that AA are very unlikely to be able to fix it. I'd skip ahead to having them take it directly to Porsche to diagnose.
Trying out this Rinseless Wash thing today (P&S Absolute). No run-off allowed.
Turns out the towels were mostly dry by the time I was done, and the ground wasn't even damp. The sun was an issue though, and I skipped the wheels until a cooler time.
Edit: And now the wheels are done inside the...
The State of Charge Youtube channel just released a RWD, 70mph range test, getting 340+ miles on a single charge.
The interesting part here is that each 25% of the indicated charge remaining gave different miles driven, but the miles/kwh were the same - 3.7. He talks about why this might be at...
I just got some self adhesive, matte plastic sheets to try out. They looked good initially when I applied some test patches, but the next day they looked pretty terrible. I'm now trying a piece that covers the Suncoast sheet to see if it's a glue problem that having 2 layers might fix. The...
I'd love to find out more about this, if it isn't the WSD0 TSB from March. I've booked my car in for the ASA3 recall, and the WSD0 TSB to see if it fixes some minor startup problems, and also the car has locked us out twice - once today.
I just took a look under my car to get an idea of what's needed to install the Pollak I just ordered from Amazon. It seems my dealer has already done this before delivery!
That's $20 with tax saved, and also having to find the correct bit to unscrew the plate.
Here’s what I’m testing out.
I like the fit of the suncoast provided climate cover, but not the reflections. As a trial, I have just taken that piece off the car and have sprayed it with Krylon Matte spray.
I used some cutoffs of the PCM pieces that I’m not using (the pack comes with 2 PCM...
I would imagine that having this plugged in will cause Trailer Mode to activate and adjust the reverse behavior.
The manual may not be useful here, as it also mentions on the relevant towing page that the engine loses power at altitude.
It would be nice to know what our cars actually do here...
With my aging eyesight, not having to refocus on the dash is an improvement (although the big speed number is easy to read).
I recently had a loaner car with one of those rear-view-mirror screens instead of an actual mirror. This has the problem of needing exactly the wrong focus. Instead of...
I am currently trying to make my own matte climate control protection, using the Suncoast product as a template, and for parts. That piece does Ok for coverage, but does nothing to stop blinding reflections from the sun.
If there was a pre-made matte protector available for that one piece, I...
