Sports Chrono vs dash compass/clock/altimeter

Hi,

Is the Sports Chrono dash mounted clock suposed to also provide compass information? If so how? I am thinking of getting a GTS but would rather just have the standard dash compass/clock/altimeter (wife loves , especially the altimeter) instead and do not see that as an option on that trim (at least in Canada). Also, if your not using it to time laps what is the point of having the Chrono clock. Maybe I am missing something but if all you can used it for is a digital clock unless your tracking it seems like a waste. Feel free to correct me if there is a use for this in daily driving scenarios.

Chrono clock has a digital 24hr display in addition to the sweeping analogue second hand.

It's a nod to the classic sports chrono on Porsches of old and apart from displayingt he time not really used for mich else. The compass is a fairly recent twist but typically the compass can be displayed digitally elsewhere along with elevation regardless - just not on the Sports Chrono clock.

I guess the GTS has to keep the track bias hence why there is no compass offered (yet).

I also have no real use for the clock and the track gadget. But it comes with the GTS and at least looks neat on the dashboard. I wouldn't have it ordered if it would be offered as option, like on the other models. The compass you can display digitally, but I also do not really have a use case for this one as well.

Without Sports Chrono as an option you would also lose Sports Plus drive mode and PSM Sport mode.

I max spec'ed a Macan 4 and its only 4.5 K less than an GTS with the same spec but with the GTS you also get Torque vectoring standard which is not available on the 4 narrowing the difference to about 2.8K. I would pay 2.8 k for the extra power and the few little extras that you get on the GTS (spoiler add on for example) which you do not get on the Macan 4.

I also spec'd the 4S and without the GTS discounts it shoots way up in price over the 4 and the GTS. There a lot of no cost options on the GTS that cost alot on the other trims.

Discounts on a GTS before the first cars are delivered?

Suggest to skip the Macan altogether and get the Cayenne EV (basic but great spec and cheaper).

By discounts, I mean the prices of options are significantly cheaper (discounted) for the GTS versus the other trims in the configurator. For example sport package is 4K for the Macan 4 and only $700 for the GTS for the exact same package.

Have you factored in those "options" from the pack which are standard in the GTS already and so you are only paying the incremental cost?

These options prices are baked in - the GTS is much more expensive to begin with and already incorporates some features of the pack.

When you take this into account it will be obvious that the price differential is not as significant.

In UK the Macan EV now has the option of a lux pack. To take this pack rather than add each individual component saves around £600 (£4K for thr pack) when added to any variant which doesn't have any of the package options as standard.

Porsche aren't in the habit of pricing differentials as massive as described.

Yeah because the GTS has already more of the package - I've not checked but there will be logic to the pricing differentials. There's front rear and side elements typically. Add to that painted or not etc.
