I got the SW update in my Macan 4S last week Friday. It has been installed smoothly without issues. It takes about 5h - and was done overnight. This was one of the first cars with the SW updates.

I immediately noticed, that finally the 5G signal is active (and not 4G anymore).
In addition they installed a stopper on the safety belt on the passenger side (for free) and a new trunk cover.

I have not yet noticed any significant difference when driving. Will need to figure this out in coming weeks.

The Porsche dealer was not yet informed about the possibilities on "retrofits for 2025" models with new features of 2026 models: Active Park Assist and Digital Key.

A few weeks ago, I was in contact with Porsche Customer relations when the new 2026 specifications were revealed, making the point that 2025 owners would want an upgrade as well.
I received a call from the Porsche team confirming that the Macan Development Team will look into retrofit options for 2025 models - and this would be a first - look into retrofit options.
Could you post a picture of the new trunk cover?

Well, it’s done! I’ve had the car in for the three point recall. I was told that it would take about 6 hours, but the actual work time was only a couple of hours in the end.
The items to be covered were:
1. Replace plastic slide on 3 point seat belt ie passenger side front. This now has a sponge pad behind it to stop it rattling when not in use
2. Replaced luggage compartment cover ie parcel shelf. The complete parcel shelf was replaced, apparently the pivots at the front of the shelf were inadequate and not fit for purpose, and the longevity of the item could not be guaranteed - so they’ve replaced it!!
3. Updated the software network VR28.13
This is supposed to cover many items that were giving concern and I was informed that they covered, amongst others:
a. Speed sign recognition - notably this was a fault more common in the UK?, our road signs gave problems to the software. The problem was less on the continent (or at least that’s what they told me!). On my way home it actually worked showing the correct limits in the correct places!!!
b. ā€˜Cruise control unavailable drivers seat belt unfastened’ notification on dash. I can’t comment on the effect of the update yet, the fault showed itself again when I took the car in but after the update, or at least so far, it hasn’t shown itself, fingers crossed it’s now cured?

There are other areas supposedly addressed, but these two points were of specific interest to me.

šŸ“Š Macan EV – Before vs After WSJ0 (VR28.13)

AreaBefore WSJ0After WSJ0
Powertrain & ChassisOccasional delays in suspension response; startup behavior less refinedFaster suspension adjustment; smoother startup; corrected false E‑Sound warnings
Charging & BatteryPreconditioning not always available; occasional charging interruptionsWider preconditioning availability; more robust charging process; reduced unnecessary consumption
InfotainmentOccasional instability; passenger touchscreen less responsive; weaker BluetoothImproved PCM stability; smoother passenger touchscreen; stronger Bluetooth; better CarPlay/Android Auto microphone
Connectivity & Phone SyncContact sync sometimes inaccurateMore precise phonebook synchronization between car and smartphone
My Porsche AppNo control of charging flap; autonomy data sometimes inconsistentNew remote charging flap control; more accurate range display
Driver AssistanceFrequent ā€œsensor cleaningā€ or ā€œsystem unavailableā€ warnings; limited traffic sign recognitionReduced error messages; improved traffic sign recognition; Porsche voice assistant extended with Google Search
Navigation & Network5G connectivity not fully optimized; online navigation limitedEnhanced 5G stability; online navigation activated (currently China only)
Parking AssistanceStandard Surround View; no Transparent Bonnet or trained routinesTransparent Bonnet view; Trained Parking routines; Reversing Assist; more stable Active Parking Support
ComfortOccasional key recognition issues; parking assistant less stableImproved key recognition; more reliable parking assistant
Climate ControlWindows prone to fogging in humid conditionsOptimized dehumidification; reduced windshield fogging
High Voltage SystemOccasional stability issuesImproved robustness and overall stability

āœ… Key takeaway

WSJ0 is not just a bug fix — it’s a major stability and functionality upgrade across driving, charging, infotainment, parking, and comfort. Your Macan Turbo EV MY24 benefits from nearly all these improvements, except Remote Parking Assist, which remains exclusive to MY25.

Obviously, take everything with a pinch of salt, in Italy we say "certainly dead"...
where is this information coming from? I've been seeing someone posting all kinds of info on this update, but nothing from Porsche itself... I'm wonder if the same (possibly incorrect) information is just being reposted everywhere

My '25 4S is at the dealer for the three current campaigns. I asked about the software update and was told it will be coming down the road.

yeah, Mfr Campaigns, i guess are registered with the DOT/NHTSA etc...and I doin't see anything about this campaign out there yet...so i assume this is EU/UK only at this point.

Good to know.
Mine is due for an update on the 1st December.
@SuperH has had a lot of issues with that. It would be good to see her feedback on this :)
I just don't use auto speed recognition feature any more. I manually change speed limit and have got used to it - just a flick of the stalk.

I will, yes. I had pushed off the service appointment a few times waiting for confirmation of the update availability here on the forums. When I called yesterday about my appointment I specifically asked about any open recalls for my vehicle. They checked using my VIN and informed me that a 'large software update' is available but it will take most of the day to perform that update. Stay tuned.
Dropped off my Macan 4 for service today. Confirmed software update will be VR28.13. Cargo area cover to be replaced, and seat belt retainer clip added (I declined the seat belt clip scope.)

Kriss not so sure this is an EU thing even though it certainly is a UK one already.Couple of days ago I asked my dealer to check out my VIN with their systems and he informed me there's no open campaigns for my car yet.He also admitted he's not aware af any software update campaign nor they lately performed any update to any Macan yet. When I told them there's a software update called WSJ0 and the updated software version number is 28.13 while the older version was 28.11 he told me he was completely unaware of such a thing.
It seems not all countries received anything related on the subject yet,for unknown reasons.

2. The Porsche "solution" of riveting a loop of seat belt material to the seat belt looks really bad, IMO.
I have it, I'm usually the one to find every little details that are wrong and I don't see it ;) It works and honestly it's hard to tell it's even there, you don't notice it.

Agree with Tomek,my 4S has it too,it came out from the factory with it (production completed 18/09/2025) and you don't even notice it unless you look out for it.
And it's not only Porsche's solution,my wife's MY20 Renault Captur has it too.

I had mine at the dealership the beginning of this week. Until yesterday the Voice assistant didn't work when my phone was connected via carplay. But also Siri didn't work and CarPlay crashed when trying to use it. Today i wanted to call the dealer, but now it suddenly works.

However, I cannot observer ANY improvement software wise. Is there any place where i can check the current version and make sure WSJ0 (VR 28.13) has actually really been installed successfully?

Ooh - thanks for the tip off Awaz! I’ll get it booked in then feed back on any improvements.
