I am driving a BMW M50 today and my first thought was to wait for BMW to release this car before I made a decision on which vehicle to buy as my next. I really like M50 and how it looks and drives and thought the next BMW would be a good choice. I am now happy that I did not wait and ordered myself a Turbo instead.

This design is not for me, way too futuristic and don't think it will age very well. Have watched some reviews now and the reviewers seems to think it is nice - but I think it's quite ugly. We are ofc different and for sure it will attract some.

I wonder if it will be as the new CLA and initially only available without a 400-volt DC converter, making it incompatible with the majority of UK public electric car charging stations.

The Macan isn’t comparable to the X3 in my opinion. Its smaller, although much better packaging and better rear seat space - But a Porsche is a drivers car, the SUVs of the bmw aren’t.

The more powerful version of this car is what I would be waiting for, which is still down the road.

I’m glad I didn’t wait, I’m sure it will be a great car but the designs keep getting weirder and weirder on the bimmers. I tolerated the iX styling, with the jewel controls, etc. It was well done but not my thing. This time around it looks like a more sci-fi aesthetic. Interesting but seems like it would lose its novelty quickly.

Plus seems like it will still be awhile yet before these and the higher end versions are delivered.

I like the exterior, much improved grill this time (smaller), but the interior is awful IMO. I break out in hives every time I see an iPad glued to a dashboard. Maybe I’m too old school.

Ditto. I use my iPad for my business and pleasure mega hours daily but it is for and in my office. I do not want a iPad stuck out from the dash of my car. I much prefer the integrated screens of our Macan EV, with its small center lower console being excellent for easy HVAC and volume changes. And as several have noted above, paraphrasing here, it drives like a spirited sports crossover.

Mixed feelings, I feel the iX is nicer, especially the interior, the me too iPad direction is just awful. But BMW‘s grow on me, for me personally they age well … so I’m torn, but I’ll probably wait for the iX5 to trade in the iX.

We will visit the iX3 first day it arrives at a dealership, then later extensively test drive in a curvy road to see how it handles and steers most especially. I think it will be a really good EV with lots of positive aspects.

Our iX was software flawless but it handled (sorry my bias here) like a couch — as even Mark of “savagegeese” reports in his second iX video. Could not wait to have BMW re-purchase it (which they fairly did), and since loving our superbly handling, steering and more Macan EV turbo.

But like more than a few here, have had some software issues with our Macan. Still all in all we will personally experience the iX3 but most likely spend thousands more and in the end when our current Macan EV’s lease is over, e.g., look forward to getting another great driving Macan EV.

Yet, Thomas@Autogefühl says the iX3 handles pretty well. We all hope it does.

They are doubling down on the ugly and asymmetric interior design, not learning from the butt ugly and stupid by name called XM like a radio, that no one bought. I guess they have conditioned all of their customers to get used to the busy and off center everything, screaming at you. My head was spinning after I sat in one of the recent BMWs, so cannot imagine being surrounded by this and forget driving one every day. Well, Audi is in the same category for me, with all the gimmicky light animations.

I feel zen after I get into my Cayenne, Macan, and Taycan and appreciate the simplicity and calmness of the interior layout, steering wheel controls, built in screens, and how stealth everything is when the cars are off.

Yes, the iX is OK but the more I look at pictures and reviews, the less I’m convinced … It’s OK and I like it over the Chinese soap designs but Audi / Porsche are leading in regards to design, inside and out … Now only if they could get the 400kw in the lower range as well …

Charging speed up to 400 instead of 270 from Porsche so sad .
also still hungry for standard options wich are be paid by porsche or not available
after 6 months with turbo, feeling to sell it. Thankfully i have some other cars to drive with

I would like to understand why 270 speed is not good enough. I am good with 150 and on purpose set my Taycan to battery friendly to lower the speed. 300 speed heats the battery to over 130F and gives no advantage in overall time in charging from 10% to 80%. I am not seeing any value in 400, that certainly if real, will be rare as it will need some serious power infrastructure. Then there is 1,000 out there, totally unnecessary.

Also, what standard options are not available to you on a Turbo.
