I’d like to share my experiences with my Macan 4S (Model Year 2025) since taking delivery in Februar 2025. The car has been in the garage since 20 August 2025, and I’m currently using a Macan 4 as a loaner. Here’s an overview:

  • Display Blackouts: Multiple times, e.g., on 14 and 20 August and befor, both displays (cockpit and infotainment) went completely black while the car kept driving. An 8-second video from 20 August (08:17) shows the issue, including a non-functioning windshield wiper – a clear safety hazard.
  • Warning Messages: I regularly get white "Assistance Systems Limited" messages. Additionally, I’ve had multiple red "Suspension Failed, Safely Park Vehicle" alerts and a yellow "Charge Port Left Impaired" warning.
  • Incorrect Traffic Sign Recognition: On the highway, the car braked unexpectedly, misreading an 80 km/h sign as 30 km/h, and twice interpreted 100 km/h as 110 km/h – very annoying.
  • Collision Warning: A red "Collision Hazard" warning flashes regularly before roundabouts, even though I have the situation under control.
  • Backup Camera Issues: It was defective, with poor quality and unusable guide lines. The camera update in May helped somewhat, but new issues persist.
  • InnoDrive Problems: The system is unreliable, shuts off without reason (red message on the left display), and brakes to a near stop in 30 km/h zones with parked cars, despite correct driving.
  • Charging Issues: After a 6-hour charge (11 kW, Easee wallbox), on 15 August at 03:00, a loud noise lasted 20 minutes, sounding like an explosion, waking the neighborhood (24°C outside).
  • Sport Mode Suspension: The sport mode can’t be saved permanently, and the normal mode feels like "driving on an air mattress."
Porsche Switzerland has ordered a replacement of the infotainment system (central unit), suspecting it as the cause, with the module expected by 29 August. A Week 36 update (starting 1 September) is being discussed, but it’s unclear if it applies to MY24-25 or only MY26. A rear axle harness recall is ongoing, though my main issues seem software- or infotainment-related.

Has anyone had similar experiences? I’m especially curious about the update – has it helped for you? I’m hoping for improvements, but the wait is frustrating.

Cheers, Rudy

  • Display Blackouts
  • Warning Messages
  • As I got in my car for the first time during delivery to leave, my infotainment screen went black and they couldn't figure it out. They took it to the shop and as they pulled in it began to work on its own and I've never had the problem since.
  • I gotten (twice so far) those warning messages but they just self-correct after a minute.
I've only owned it for 30 days though.

There are many people with these and much worse problems (me included) but the overall take is most people are fine and these problems are isolated ;)

My take is - as long as you keep getting these regulars false error messages, something is off and if affects many different systems. There is no resolution for this so far and I'm telling this after my car has been in the shop for weeks at the time without any luck. Loaners I got had similar issues ;)

And BTW these problems keep getting worse in my case - I used to getting it from time to time, now after 20k kms I'm getting them during most of longer drives.

I wanted to share the latest update on my Macan 4S (Model Year 2025) since it’s been in the garage since 20 August 2025. My dealer in Switzerland called me today at 15:00 CEST to say that the central infotainment unit was replaced yesterday (2 September). So far, no errors have occurred, and they’re monitoring it further. The handover is planned for Friday (5 September) if all goes well.

However, he mentioned that Porsche Switzerland has not yet announced any OTA update as of now. The current software version is the one currently released, with no indication of the Week 36 update (starting 1 September) that’s been discussed in forums. Have anyone other informations?

Hey, buddy! Thanks for the information and I am so sorry to hear about your issues. Did you get any information at all about Week 36 update? We’ve gotten information from two different dealers that it was supposed to come this week but is delayed. How much, I do not know.

Hi,
had multiple display blackouts a few weeks after delivery and Porsche decided to replace it. Since then (more than 2 months) no more trouble. Great after sale service from Porsche Luxembourg.

I wanted to share the latest on my Macan 4S (Model Year 2025). My dealer called me an hour ago (around 10:55 CEST today) with an update. The central infotainment unit was replaced this week and initially, no errors were reported. However, this morning, the blackout issue occurred again, so the car cannot be handed over yet. Porsche has been informed, and the garage is awaiting further instructions.

This is disappointing, as I was hoping the replacement would resolve the display blackouts. I’ve also had recurring red "Suspension Failed, Safely Park Vehicle" warnings, yellow "Charge Port Left Impaired" alerts, and regular white "Assistance Systems Limited" messages.

The garage is monitoring the car, with handover planned for today if no issues arose, but the new blackout changes that.

Cheers, Rudolf Neff

Hi, Rudolf! So sorry to hear about your issue. Can I just give you a tip from someone with a lot more, but similar issues with your car? They always handed it over to me whenever they didn’t find issues for it to come back even worse later on. Do not accept the car unless they have a solution for it, because the main reason they give it back is that they don’t know what’s causing it.

Just a heads up from someone who has had his car in the shop on and off for 8 months.

Thanks for your warm words.

My Macan has also been in the repair shop several times this year. The problems have been there since the beginning and have been fixed several times. Or not. I've had the car since February 26. I first documented the faults on March 7. Then on March 12, it broke down completely. Then it was repaired. Then the faults reappeared on March 29. Then on April 2 and April 3. Then on April 11, April 19, May 8, and May 9. On May 18, I took the car to the dealer for repairs. I got the car back. Then on June 2, the fault occurred again. Also on June 3 and June 4. Then something was done again. Then I had breakdowns again on July 22. Then on August 3, then on August 14. Also on August 15 and then on August 19, as well as on August 20. Now the car is once again in the repair shop. And they can't do anything!

I am so sorry to hear that, I really am. Did they speak anything touchy regarding the new software update that should have been released in week 36? My dealer (the car is still in the shop) said that it should fix my issues but it is delayed. Maybe it is something similar for you?

although, I actually believe that our cars have some hardware issue that keeps triggering all these faults, because your story is basically the same as mine.

Same story for me. In the meantime I've gathered 2 pages of errors. One of the latest ones is also the red one saying "Suspension failed". Porsche is not able to fix them. They can not even find a root cause. One reason is that none of the errors (not even the red ones) seem to be written in the error memory. The good thing is, that these doesn't seem to be general issues, as most of the owners doesn't seem to have problems.

Well.. that error I’ve had 2 times, so we’re 3/3 on this thread at least..

Welcome to the world of Macan ownersip! I’ve had my Turbo since November and since A very similar issue to you of it pretty much doing an emergency stop due to reading incorrect road signs (in my case it was signposted 70 mph dropping to 50 mph, but the car read it as 5mph!) I’ve had to turn traffic sign recognition off for personal safety. Porsche said it should be resolved with the software update of last April - it didn’t. Road topography wouldn’t turn on as an option, which they looked at when it was in a few weeks ago, and although it’s now turned on, it doesn’t actually change the actions of the car based on said topography. The regular ‘you’re about to hit a parked car, even though it’s many meters away’ collision warning is a daily pop up, along with the handful of other warning messages which appear sporadically. Again - all should have been fixed with the last software update but continues.

Lots of other users here report the same issues with no known fix.
