Now I can visualize this, I like it. I have various sizes of bungees in the trunk to stop things sliding around, but using one to manage the charger cable will be added to my infrequent fast charging routine.

We bought ours for the luxury. But yeah, if it weren't a range-challenged leg with no DCFC, we'd have picked up the speed a bit.

Not getting stranded trumps fast driving though.
Understood, thank you. I have range anxiety no doubt. I do love the luxury and I drive the speed limit.

Sure, next time I see a free Level III charger around, I'll stop and show you what I mean.

In the meantime, below is the picture I use for my avatar.

Notice how I parked the Turbo off center in the middle of two "empty" spots. If I had parked normally, the DC cable would rub on my left rear bumper panel. There's a metal wire that keeps the heavy cable retracted. I did not have my bungie cords after I had emptied the frunk due to an AC defect and forgot to replace them. In the case, I offset the parking and ran the DC cable UNDER my hitch.

Had my bungie cords been on board, I would have wrapped the bungie around the DC cable and attached the other end to one of the two stainless steels poles protecting the chargers.

Beautiful car, thank you for this pic, can't wait to see the bungie cord pic!

Thanks for comment; you should see the interior. I must have two full cow's worth of extra leather. However, I have to say that the experience is seriously dampened since I took possession of the vehicle in mid-June 2025. The Turbo was delivered with a faulty expansion valve causing the HVAC to lose freon with the loss of AC. This appears to be a recurring problem from Germany. Now I have a other faults popping up with some Assistance Systems. I traded-in my 991.2 and Macan GTS for this EV, something I hope I will not live to regret for the next 37 months.

Have had some initial teething pains but the first drives after multiple dealer visits (software and hardware), and I am smiling big time time again. Hopefully you will feel same once yours is back to health.

Sure it is my monitor but please what color is your beauty?

ha ha, two cows! I can only imagine your frustration. When I took possession, end of December '24, came to learn I had no AC as the outdoor temps began to climb in spring, the line had to be replaced and a software update was done, good to go for now but it seems like always something. Now I can't get a full charge. At 80% I get 253 m. is that normal? I was getting at least 350 m. IDK

Dolomite Silver - we have a lot of weather in Canada and Dolomite Silver or any kind of silver stays clean-er longer or hides it well.

Can't get a full charge? To 100%, you mean? Or do you mean the range# is just lower?

yes, range is much much lower and no idea why. I should have clarified, thanks for your patience
Ah, just range. Yes, that's why we often call that the Guess-O-Meter (GOM). All it is is an estimate of range calculated by the car's computer based on your recent driving efficiency. Which may or may not bear any resemblance your upcoming drive. Take it with a grain of salt. Can easily be 20-30% different than what you'll really get. High speed lowers efficiency. Cold temps lower efficiency. Elevation gain lowers efficiency. Many factors effect efficiency, and thereby range.

Makes sense and sounds like the same principle as my 2016 Prius hybrid with 44,000 miles on it (glad I kept it as a second car). All good advice and I'm learning a lot about electricity, kilowatts, that sort of thing. Thanks again!

Two suggestions. First, go sit in the car and enter your ABQ destination into the Porsche nav. Then look at the estimated charge at the destination. The system may also recommend a charging stop if your car is not sufficiently charged to make it all the way. Or, if you charge to 100% before you do this, it should show you whether you will make it there without charging. This estimate is conservative and I found it to be quite good. This is the range estimate that you should be looking at when deciding on any range questions you might have. The general range estimate at the bottom of the drivers screen is not very accurate. That’s what people are calling the guess-o-meter. Of course, using the NAV system requires that you input a destination to get the more accurate estimate.

Second, go do some longer drives so that you get some experience with the vehicle and with DC fast charging. At EA you have a free year of fast charging, and so why not use it to become more comfortable with cross country driving.

Thank you and this makes sense to use Porsche navigation. I have only used Apple Navigation in the past but I can see how this makes more sense for range accuracy. I'l do it. I really appreciate the guidance.
