The car park is seriously up hill from home. It is certainly taking topography into account when route planning.
Last summer when I drove up the Furka Pass in Switzerland, the Porsche planner showed how much I would lose. I can't remember the exact numbers, but let's say it showed I would be left with a 50% range from the 70% I started with.
And on the way back when I changed the navigation back to where I started (all downhill), the navigation showed I would be back to 70%.
And that was the case. A pleasant surprise.

I suspect you are being unduly pessimistic of the route planners capability.

When I plot a route to a car park I walk from regularly it says it will take 6% charge to drive the 11 miles to get there. When I plot a route from that car park back home the planner says it will take 1% to get there. The car park is seriously up hill from home. It is certainly taking topography into account when route planning.
It may "remember" past consumption or specific to and / route consumption too.

It certainly appears to retain "past" information that negatively affects the range output as we poor saps are having to manually reset the BMS through the up and down re-calibrations that are being discussed at great lengths in these Forums.

Terrain Database...hein, I doubt it. It's simply a calculator doing the math. Don't get me wrong, I don't think any EV out there right now has a true topographical database as part of it's route planner.

However, back to my pics and initial query with the "route calculator", if you tell me why my route planner is telling me that I will arrive with more "juice" than I currently have in my high-voltage battery without any planned charge session, I will gladly bid an LHR turn and buy you a pint or two. 😉

To me, everything suggests that it does take terrain into account for route planning.

As to the higher SoC on arrival - I agree this is nuts crazy. Mine did this too for the first time last August and it lasted for two weeks before reverting to normal operation. It's come back a couple of times since for short periods but I don't think I've seen it since the big 28.13 software update.

It's possible that it went away on mine after a run down to a lowish charge then a charge up to 100% or thereabouts. Definitely worth a try. Others report changing to the guest profile resolves it. To me this is nothing more than a software bug that need raising with Porsche in the hope of an eventual fix maybe one day possibly perhaps.

I suspect you are right on the software bug. The frustration comes from being BETA testers while paying so much money.

It's my fault for being overly enthusiastic in ordering and purchasing a launch luxury vehicle.

Three weeks ago, I purchased a 2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV XSE sixth generation and I don't expect any issues with this proven product. I get 80km of EV range with a 1000 km range. I needed a break from this Porsche POS.

Thanks for you input and I will be doing another "yoyo" battery reset; it's at 100% now.

Don't overthink it, it's just another issue related to the soft and/or the bms and/or the battery and/or whatever causes that...on specific cars.

Mine is often (very) pessimistic , have a look, 12% for 60 meters :

I tried the Guest account and the route planner is accurate.

I am going to do a factory reset as I am unable to delete the main user account. I suspect my Porsche ID account file is corrupt.

Factory reset completed, although it took well over 30 minutes to finish loading. I re-created my Porsche ID and the route planner inaccurate battery remaining issues reported earlier appear to have been resolved; food for thought.
