Since owning the car I have never seen any benefit from the supposed charger pad cooling - the phone overheats while projecting android auto onto both centre & dash screens, and then the charge rate reduces and so you actually get a net loss from using the wireless charger.

I've never been able to feel any airflow from the wireless pad or the small holes on it. Is there a way to check the airflow is functioning? Does it only blow when a phone is actively charging on it?

The manual does not state anything specific to turning on the cooling function:

Any feedback much appreciated

I just use the usb-c cable, sure if I wanted double the heat/degradation and half the speed I guess I could use the charging pad but I don't😁
I don’t worry about the iPhone’s battery degradation because by the time it happens I’m most likely ready for a new updated version. And, I find it more convenient to connect wirelessly, which it does reliably. Yes, it doesn’t charge as fast but prevents it from discharging while connected wirelessly. The battery charge is usually better regardless. Besides, it would be very uncommon for me to get in the car with a low charged phone as I keep it well charged when home. Just my preference. I do think it is a good option that works as intended in the Macan. I contrast it with the unreliable wireless charger in the Tesla M3 and MX (hard to establish connection and often disconnecting after a few seconds).

The cooling works fine for me; doing nothing special. Are you keeping the A/C on in the car in general? I think it just uses the same air stream as the rest of the interior.

However, the Audi GT used to sometimes warn me when I forget the phone in the car, which I do all the time. Nothing like that in the Macan. So I mostly keep the phone in my pocket...

Thanks, yes I've tried all sorts of combinations of AC on/off, changing the fan speed, compartment door open/closed.

I will get the dealer to invetigate when the car goes in winter time for some other issues.

My observation is there ia an air channel from the HVAC ductwork and air blows all the time. It doesn't seem to vary with or without the phone. My HVAC is set to auto, so there is always some air flow, but it varies with blower speed. My iPhone can be cool or warm when I remove it depending.

I have the same experience that phone is over heated And usually charging fails after few minutes. Can you see any icon on the car display showing that wireless charges is on?

My pixel 9 pro doesn't overheat, and have driven 2hr+ trips with the car on Android Auto. It's fully charged when I removed it and only slightly warm.
Do you have a thick phone case perhaps? That can cause QI charging to run hot..

ITs pretty crazy that VW corp has not figured it out since the eTron SUV in 2019... i have the same problem there and now on all taycans and recently on the Macan.
