Ah ok thanks. I was told the ‘received your dream’ was at the point of allocation not order. Maybe I misunderstood what the dealer was inferring.

I’ve been told 6 months for a 4S and they are suggesting mid Feb for delivery as it stands.
I was told on 7 Mar that I got a build slot for May. I managed to make a last-minute minor change to the specs on 21 Mar (painted wheels), two days before my freeze date. I believe that "Your dream starts to become a reality now" on TYD reflects the freeze date.

I suspect destination plays a role in how long an order takes to fulfill. Shipping within Germany or even the UK is likely a lot faster than going across the ocean to a different continent.

I hope you get it soon! Waiting isn't easy

Yes, totally agreed. But I thought it would take more time to deliver to the UK, since it has to be shipped (boat) and involves some bureaucracy as it's outside the EU, compared to delivering within a European country.
But seems it is not the case

I clearly got lucky. Ordered my 4S late December, it was built by late Feb, including a very last minute addition to spec (comfort access, I was out of date by about 5 years in how it works, so pleased I made the change and I hope to get phone key when it comes out). Picked it up late March. Sorry you guys are having to wait substantially longer For such a great car.
I wonder have they slowed production down, or is demand higher?

Dare I say, I think you got lucky. Lead times went out to 18 months in COVID and never really recovered to those days of 3-4 months. I was expecting 6-9 months and currently expecting to be sub 6, just.

I ordered my MY26 PTS Macan 4S in August and was told that I should get a production date in early-mid September, with a delivery date expected in late January.

As of October 2, I still don't have any information about a production date, option freeze date, delivery date, etc. I'd love to start counting down days rather than being in an endless waiting game...

That’s interesting.

The US has MY26 available for the 4S unlike the UK so that shouldn’t be a problem getting an allocation. However model demand in other regions might be a factor. PTS usually extends lead times and you’ll have about 3-4 weeks of transit time to the East Coast. So if I’m told mid-February for a UK delivery ordering two weeks behind you something’s probably a bit off.

My order is for delivery in Spain. We don't have the MY26 4S in the configuator, but my sales guy said it will be MY26.

I read somewhere that PTS was 6-9 months for delivery. I'm starting to believe it. Though my SA told me that 5-6 months was what to expect.

The latest info I've got is that I seem to have possibly missed the January PTS window. It looks like August might be the next window (along with November)?

My SA says that they have a normal allocation for February that they are trying to get switched to PTS, but Porsche hasn't said yes/no yet. It's been stuck in this state for a few weeks now.

I'm getting pretty nervous about both the longer-than-expected wait and the many unresolvable issues that I keep seeing reported.

The new GLC EV looks like it could do the job for me, and surely has more stable and reliable software. They are telling me March/April delivery for orders placed now.

For now, I'm going to wait on an update from Porsche. If I get bumped to the August PTS window, I'll probably cancel.

I understand your frustration.

My understanding is that the allocations align with yours and they tend to be grouped together. This was the case a few years ago with a Cayman I was considering before choosing a stock car. I also believe that only about 20% of all allocations are PTS for these models, so you’re further reducing your chances of securing a slot. At this point, I’d recommend speaking to other dealers to see if they can offer a better commitment.

Considering the Mercedes won’t have a colour similar to yours and has a rather limited palette, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of your PTS build? They’ll feel very different to drive.

Similarly, I’d look at the SQ6. Having driven both, it feels like about 85% of a Macan and has similar lead times to the Merc.

The dealer I’m working with is still waiting for an allocation but expects delivery in early or mid-February. I’m using this opportunity to price up a GTS. I’d hate to think some 4S builds are being affected by the incoming GTS, but if they are, it might be time to switch. Looking at my specifications, I think the GTS might be almost identically priced and has always been my ‘preferred’ trim level.

My 4 seemed to be on target for early September delivery but was for some reason taken back to the Leipzig factory from Emden. This was apparently for random QC checks & delayed delivery by 5 weeks.
Got it now tho' & am a very happy boy!

Unfortunately, the SQ6 isn't available with ventilated seats in (hot) southern Spain. So it's not an option.

Yes, I'd prefer the PTS build that I've selected, but I don't really want a 2026 model a week before 2027 models ship to new owners. I guess there's a chance that I get bumped all the way to MY2027.

It seems like my dealer had some PTS allocations, but when we needed a couple of extra weeks to finalize our decision, they were all taken. They requested another, but so far, it seems like they haven't received it. My SA isn't giving me all of these details, but that's what it seems like from my perspective.

Indeed, the GLC won't have the color that I'd like, but they do have a great white interior option. It's certainly not as customizable, but it's surely going to have more stable software and will be well supported. It will also have a smoother air suspension that my family would prefer. 4.3s to 100 kmph isn't bad at all, either. If it were available in 3-4 months, I'd have already made the switch. However, the 5-6 month wait is making me hold off on that.

I just wish that things weren't so opaque and unknown. Watching months tick by without any progress being made towards a car that I've already paid 20,000 euros for is the opposite of exciting. At least, if I had a date, I could count down the days... I was told that I'd have a production date in September.
