Had the car in for the 1st service. Instead of paying $1500 for the service, I asked for 2 things:
1. brake fluid flush (at 1 year, this is an overkill IMO)
2. service interval reset

Total $440

I got a loaner, and they performed several different recall campaigns.

I'll need to replace the cabin air filter and wipers myself, but I kept a chunk of change in my pocket. Did the same approach with my Tycan for 2 services.

Next service Oct 2027 or 1880 miles (not sure why not 20k, but that's what shows on my app)

BTW, for those who hate the passenger seatbelt buckle rattling, they installed this as part of a recall, I'm guessing.

Thanks for the photo of the seatbelt buckle, in my mind I did come up with this solution but I just couldn’t figure out how they would sew it (they didn’t).
Pic from my vw below which now looks better than Porsche seat buckle wise at least.

The difference is that yours is permanent in this position. What they did is attach it to a clip so you can move it around the belt vertically. I'll need to drive a bit to see if it helps.

Exactly, it’s where it’s supposed to be, in the middle like every other car, no clip and no afterthought solution, just a clean design that works.
On a car costing 3 times my VW I was shocked at the rattle, didn’t pick it up on the test drive as the SA was sitting in the passenger seat.
Honestly I don’t know what surprises me more the fact that Porsche managed to design a seat belt buckle that rattles like crazy when passenger seat is unoccupied or that they addressed the issue, I was 100% sure they would just tell you to jam the clip up to the highest position every time you don’t want a free headache.
I can’t wait to get this done, it’s my no.1 complaint of the car, glad it’s solved.

I was told that the first service would be in two years. Is that standard or should it be a yearly affair?

it's surprising...but not at the same time.
I think it's surprising for them to make this mistake this late in the game... it's not like this is their first car.....
but at the same time, i bet when the car is out for testing, there's always another person in the passenger seat

I don't understand why the belt needs to be adjusted. easy to put a permanent button on the belt to keep the buckle high and we'd have 20% less posts in the forums

Why didn’t you wait for 20k miles ?
1. At 17k, the message on the screen started showing up and was super annoying (TO ME).
2. If you look at my screenshot, right after service, next service is due in 18k miles. It doesn't say 20k as you would assume.

Well in new money it's 30K km:p which is 18.64K miles so we'll let him off;)
What is unforgivable:CWL: is replacing the brake fluid under 50K km or 2-3 years.
In my book only allowed in 2 cases:
1) you have money to burn
2) car is or about to be tracked

Would you happen to know how to reset the service message? My dealer wouldn't reset the message without any service, so I'm not sure I agree with your 2 cases...

I assume it is same as new VWs where only the authorized dealer can reset the service reminder via connection to the mother ship, no solution for the DIYer or independent mechanic.
This is the only way for the Manufacturer (Porsche or otherwise) to charge from 500-1500euro for EV service which consists of:
1) pollen filter replacement, part costs from 10-50euro, install in 1-5 min depending on car
2) brake fluid replacement, fluid costs around 10 euro, labour 30-60min
3) inspection (visual), 15 minutes
I consider anything over 200 euro a scam (talking about EVs).

Tesla for example recommends checking brake fluid every 4 years and replacing if necessary.

Porsche being a legacy manufacturer makes most of its money from aftersales (servicing) and selling brand image so people think its ok to pay 500-1500 euro for the privilege to have it serviced at Porsche.

At 1 year I would service it myself, use the blower on the cabin filter if needed, no inspection necessary (I drive the car every day), Labour: 5 min, Cost: free of charge:)

In Europe we are allowed by law to have the car serviced at an independent mechanic and keep the warranty, parts do not even have to be original just to meet quality standards. Manufacturer is obliged to supply at reasonable cost all info, diagnostic tools, software which includes resetting the service reminder. If this is not available you are allowed to go to a dealer and have the reminder reset. This is in theory, in practice they may well tell you to piss off:CWL:

As far as I understand, there isn’t a 1 year service (in the UK)

No it's 2 years or 30K km what ever comes first.
OP covered just under 30K km in 1 year (enjoying the car probably) so took it for service when annoyed at the reminder.
Porsche as a money grab replaced the brake fluid (1 year / under 30K km) which I consider a scam just to get rid of the service reminder & supply the pollen filter (which let's face it, we change our tyres/wiper blades as needed we could can change the filter as well, not sure why it is considered a "service item" unless you live in the desert 😁
VW charges me over 20 euro for the "installation", 1 min job and 65 euro for the filter!! I made a fuss and they reduced it to 45 euro, no wonder they are in trouble, scamming people😁
