In Europe, Porsche has switched to model year 2026 in the configurator on the website for all models except the Macan EV. Isn't that a bit strange?
Most odd indeed but suspect that will change at some point this month.

It would be good to know when the actual model year now changes to help hedging to ensure you configure and order the latest spec. That used to be late June / early July for a September delivery on pretty much all Porsches.

CEO had already stated that sales of the Macan EV are not as strong as expected - hence the announcement of a new model for 2028 to plug the gap which will offer hybrid and ICE power. Too many lost sales and lack of foresight (making the Macan an EV only) has led to significant and material changes at Porsche.
They had no option to cease sales in Europe of the ICE as it failed to comply with the cyber security regulations. No idea why the ICE Macan didn't comply but other Porsche’s do.
The originally plan was to launch the EV in Europe at least a year prior to its actual launch - that would have enabled them to see how the EV went alongside the ICE. As the UK is no longer in Europe they could continue to sell ICE’s.

Ironically the years delay was down to issues developing the software !

Where did he say that?

Um, UK is part of Europe last time I checked and we like other countries can still purchase.

The cyber point / excuse made by Porsche some time ago is rather lame.

The truth is they screwed up and didn't have anything to plug the gap until now - https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-porsche-m1-suv-use-front-biased-4wd-system

...I've already said it before,I'm saying it again.I would be more than curious to know how the sales of this M1 will go when sometime during 2028 enters the market as a normal ICE old school vehicle while there will be available the MY2028 Macan EV with all the new technologies, all bells and whistles and all the features and goodies such future generation EV will have to offer.

As you say - Um - You may have missed the fact that the UK left the EU so EU (European) regs don’t necessarily apply here. Instead of always taking an opposing view perhaps you could have looked a little further on Autocar as you cite them, you seemed to have missed this article
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/porsche-macan-off-sale
How are you finding ownership of the Macan EV, this being the MacanEVOwners forum ? Have you had the software and issues other owners have had ?

It didn’t comply as the ICE Macan is based on a 2008 Audi Q5 platform. The Q5 moved to a new platform in 2017 so it could offer hybrid options but the Macan didn’t, hence no hybrid or cybersecurity proof.
Other Porsches didn’t comply, Boxster/Cayman shared the same (cybersecurity) death as the ICE Macan and will soon be an EV only platform.

I never seen anything from Porsche or its CEO stating that sales are not as high as expected. In fact, all PR and reporting has been quite the opposite.

That M1 is basically a Q5 in drag, really quite an unappealing offering, and it’s not here until 2028.
Well all I can say is DYOR. Blume's sentiments are all over the article if you read it and research online.

Macan EV sales are lack lustre at best 25K units so far in 2025 - Hyundi push out 1.5m units from 1 factory in Ulsan in 1 year.

I think we all get it, you're not a fan of Macan electric, not too sure why still hanging around here tbh?

You are so far removed from reality and have grossly misunderstood where I'm coming from - sorry, but true.

You might have to update us, but we're pretty astute around here. So far you we know that you don't like the quality of the new Macan, didn't think it drives very well, take glee in selectively sharing sales figures which don't tell the full story, delight in reminding us that Porsche have a failed strategy, and can't wait for a combustion Macan to come back...what am I missing?

W1nge - I have to ask - you responded to others, but didn't answer my question on how you’re getting on with the Macan EV ? Perhaps it’s because you hated the car having test drove the car and so didn’t buy one - I asked as I had seen all your negative comments (as JonoNZ said), but I thought as you were still on here, you had seen the error of your ways and decided to buy one.

Before responding to your earlier post, I spent the time to see a sample of your posts and this confirmed my view that the majority of your post either challenge views or are negative. I ask again, what do you get out of being a regular visitor to a forum dedicated to a car you dislike so much ?

Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course, but a forum dedicated to MacanEVOwners shouldn’t really be of interest to someone who denigrates everything about the model and yet isn’t an owner or as our American colleagues would say “hasn’t any skin in the game”

Im sure you’ll respond in your normal acidic manner, but I feel better for expressing my view (which of course I’m entitled to) and I suspect I am not alone in this view.

UK is part of Europe
The problem was that the *EU* had cybersecurity regulations for cars, which the ICE Macan failed.
The UK doesn't enforce EU cybersecurity regulations, and thus the ICE Macan can still be bought there (as in the US.)
