I was hurrying to the airport in the USA when I think I saw something today that was unexpected: a Macan EV at a Tesla Supercharger that doesn't have magic docks.

We're a few days away from June. Is this a car testing the waters or just someone hopelessly lost? Do we have an exciting update coming our way or are we still waiting in purgatory?

Was this a Supercharger or possibly a Tesla Destination Charger? The latter are just L2 and usable with an adapter.
I'm certain it was a Macan EV in a v3 Supercharger stall. I do not know if electricity was flowing.

This was just updated in the My Porsche app for me

interesting - I've downloaded the app - saw the same "what's new" screen as shown above, but I can't find that configuration screen anywhere in the actual app - it may need to be "activated" server-side when they are ready…

but it's clear pieces are falling into place - it's also interesting that they state - "NACS … with the Porsche Charging Service" - guess we'll be activating Tesla Superchargers via the Porsche Charging Service…not a big surprise, but more data showing a clear trend.

Sounds like it. I also tried looking but couldn’t find it

Probably, but not necessarily. Electrify America is testing those NACS connectors at a few places, and I wonder if Chargepoint has a few out there too.

I just searched for an IONNA station, and those show up with 6 CCS1 and 4 'other' plugs. I would expect this update to have displayed these as NACS instead - but it also took a few seconds to get the data to display at all.

There was also a page about telling the planner you're ok using an adapter to charge. I can't find that in the app either!

Well, June is in the rearview mirror and VW was supposed to have Tesla charging in June. So I hope this is the first sign that maybe we are just a few days late. I, too, got the notification, but cannot locate a configuration screen that looks like that. I hope it's imminent. I live near the I 93 corridor in New Hampshire and I resist long trips right now because of the lack of DC fast charging, but there are several Tesla supercharger stations along my routes to Boston or New York City.. Fingers crossed!

PS, when last I checked, the Tesla website still shows VW Audi and Porsche as coming soon

PPS, I have a Lectron adapter, ready to go!

Very typical to porsche app, they show it to you as a tip but it's not enabled and there is no "Porsche Certified NACS adapter" or a car with it (AFAIK MY26 still comes with CCS) .. very disappointing.

Until the charging catches up (EA and others have NACS) I still prefer they come with CCS, but that’s only because supercharging network is a last resort so that’s what will minimize adapter use. We will definitely have both available for a long time (see Ionna station layouts).

At any rate I wouldn’t want NACS now and HAVE to use supercharger or an adapter. I do wish the general rollout would be faster.
