Electric Sport Sound - equip it or not?

Just got my car 2 weeks ago.
I thought I would enjoy this option much more..
It’s fun, but for only 5min at a time.
If you have to choose between this and any other options, choose the others.

I will write to ... the opposite: I took it and not that i "enjoy" it but I think useful in city or in parkings where people are so used to ICE cars and are most of the time very surprised to have a car they didn't hear coming nearly on their feets (okay, most of the time with airpods in the ears... does not help).

I’m about to order a Macan - just the base model unfortunately but need the range.

I don’t know whether to spec the electric sport sound or not. It’s not expensive but equally if it’s no good I would rather not spend the money!

Any opinions on it?

I would skip it unless you had a 911 in your past and really want to hear faux ICE engine sounds. Especially if the purchase is for range in a Porsche experience. The Mocan is our third EV and each makes its own "sound" with the motors and batteries. I do find outside is louder than my other EV's and inside is quiter.

I thought I need it to have a more emotional ride. But believe me, you do not need it. Especially as you always have to switch to Sport or Sport plus mode to enable it.

You can pick it off the menu without being in sport.

Mine came with it and it's amusing for a little bit. It sounds good for the first two seconds, but you're waiting for it sounds good for the first two seconds, but you're waiting for the shift. It just keeps spooling up it just keeps spooling up.
If it was in a package, fine. If it was in a package, fine. Knowing what I know knowing what I know I don't think I would don't think I would pay extra .

Gosh. Many here say "no" but I am in the "yes" camp. I have it and use it all the time. You can use it on the Normal drive mode (you do not need to have it on Sport or Sport Plus alone) - in my case I have assigned the 'joker key' on the steering wheel to enable the sound when driving in Normal mode.

There is a difference between the outside car noise and the interior sport sound package.
The latter one is optional and makes a fake "engine" sound on the internal speakers.

That first one is mandatory due to regulations/laws nowadays so the car has this outside sound till I believe 30km/h always on, cannot be shut off.
The topic starter is asking for the internal sound option to take it or not.

it is also louder outside the car when you activate the (optional) "sport sound". I used to say the sound used for regulation at (very) low speed is a bit low and especially in a bit noisy environments (with typically ICE cars around), you don't hear it at all. But I agree, once I am on the street without pedestrians & bicycles, I disable this sound

I have it (sports sound option) came with a package, I definitely like it when I am driving more aggressively as it really does add more emotion. I use it periodically, but the key is being able to turn it off when I don’t want to be bothered or am just quietly cruising. I have had my car for a year so it has also grown on me. More importantly, I wish I could eliminate the annoying low speed safety sound that the car makes under 20mph (without sports sound) and drive in complete silence. That mandatory safety feature is not optional. I do understand its importance, however.

Hmm, I could not hear any difference outside to be honest. Will try to verify it again.

I wouldn’t bother! Had it on x2 Taycans but not on showroom Macan I now own - don’t miss it at all! Pan roof is good as are better seats and Bose

We have it and enjoy it, but there are other options to choose before this one. We added it last minute with the headrest logos.

I still like it. That said, definitely don't use for cruising as it just drones when there's no acceleration. It's fun in short bursts and, as others mentioned, in parking lots to give people a heads up.

I ordered it to mess with my nephew who like noise coming from the engine.

I never use it, and I have to turn it off every time in sport mode (kind of annoying). I find quite power quite rewarding. For me, my next one will definitely NOT have that.

But if you want it, get it, because you can't get it after the car is built.
