Once you drive on ‘mapped’ roads for about 10 minutes it will apparently change.
I'm in the Los Angeles area and there isn't a non-mapped road anywhere near me. It also doesn't make any sense to me that you would have to be on a mapped road for the time to update.

Then tech support was wrong. They owe me a call back. I’ll try to remember to tell them it doesnt seem to work for everyone.

this is not true - i drove around all day yesterday - no change - this morning it’s all good - after overnight in my garage with no signal
Interesting. I happened to be on the phone with tech support this morning for something else and that is what they shared.

Mine switched properly while sitting in the garage. It is connected to the home wifi, but there is also a weak cell and GPS signal.

If it works like a computer, there is a time server configured in the car's internet setup. At defined periods, the computer in the radio contacts the server and obtains the correct time. For this to work, there needs to be a connection to the time server on the internet (via a cell data link or wifi) and the time server has to be running.

You can get time from GPS, but the GPS signal is not going to specify daylight or standard time, just univerall time. The car has to figure that out the time offset otherwise. Modern cars can use GPS location data to look up the time zone for the location and display the right time for the location. In my cars that use GPS for time I have to manually switch between daylight and standard, however.

I think time provided by the cell signal is also universal, but I haven't checked that in a while.

In the US, time is also broadcast on a radio channel. That is how most automated digital clocks get their time.

It used to be common for plenty of devices to display the wrong time for days. But systems and com links have become more robust.

No it didn’t - the App is still in Summertime
Car clock has updated but my App is also still showing 'time zone of the vehicle UTC+1' in preconditioning/schedule departures, now over 2 weeks since reverting to GMT

I too have the time change issue. I set the Porsche time to Alaska (I am in California) which solved the issue. Apple CarPlay clock (standard screen and the Clock widget) were, of course, correct.

got in car this morning - 1 hour “ahead” - didn’t fall back!

anyone else?

had to set time zone to alaska +9 to get correct time!
Yes, joining you and others noting that unlike prior cars my Macan 4 EV didn’t auto reset.

I confess it took me several attempts on Sunday morning to figure out how to get the Date/Time reset. How embarrassing of me 🤣

Ultimately, I figured it out and reset the time. No big deal.

Small displeasure compared the disappointment Porsche doesn’t provide consistent OTA software updates that even modest Ford EVs enjoy.

When I set the correct time using a different time zone the App charging time said the car was in that time zone so it used the wrong departure time to finish charging.

it wasn’t until the car recognised the correct time zone a week later that everything was corrects - time in car and departure time.

Wow. This is even more concerning given all of the software issues brought up in the various threads. If a simple, basic, date/time switch can't be handled seamlessly and automatically and at the correct time, what does that say about the much more complicated and complex software programming in the vehicle.

Mine auto changed, turning off DST, but I didn’t check it immediately on the Sunday morning so I can’t confirm exactly when it changed.
