Dashboard leather airbag cut out

I have a cut out on my leather dash that looks like a license plate was left on the dash. I was told it is from the airbag, but mine is very pronounced. Local dealership just told me the regional rep will not warranty this. I’ve never owned a vehicle with count outs on an otherwise beautiful leather dash fall within builder specs. Anybody else deal with this or have success getting it warranty’d?

Can a leather repair shop not fix this? I have watched a lot of videos of leather seat repair and this seems well within the scope of what they could do

I would push harder, try another dealer if you can, or contact PCNA. My local dealer has replaced issues like this for less.

I'd rather trust a leather/upholstery shop than have Porsche remove the dash to replace it. That just begs additional problems with squeaks and rattles. Agree that steam or leather conditioner should be able to address this.
