However, as of today (15 January 2026), both problems have suddenly disappeared. I did not change anything and did not take any action—the issues vanished just as mysteriously as they appeared.
A Happy New Year, for you :)

We're on a road trip to Las Vegas. Car started flaking out yesterday. Radio wouldn't work, Assistance Systems Error (no ACC), no speed limit showing, and that little yellow symbol that looks like a car next to a stop sign (??) is at the bottom. 15 minute drive across town. After I got there are parked, opened the liftgate, and went back to open the driver door, the radio came on. All seemed OK for a while the next day.

And even more weirdly, at the start of that drive, the speed limit appeared in the European format (red circle) before switching to US, then going away altogether.

Then for the last 3 drives today, Assistance Systems Error is back (plus that little yellow icon) and isn't going away. Tried the PCM reboot multiple times, and it has no effect. Sensors are all clean. I got the software update maybe 2 months ago.

Ugh.

Best plan is call and book service with your dealership. Software glitches are sign that dealership service dept should review and do proper reboot. Likely couple of days process. Get a loaner. Best wishes.

Got my car back today (Dec 15) error-free! Front camera had active faults from incorrect coding, and an internal fault. Reprogrammed the camera and calibrated everything, test drove it and cleared all faults. No codes, no warnings after about 100 miles. They also fixed my GPS, which was not showing the correct location of the car. That turned out to be software related also.

I'm glad these are fixed, but certainly didn't expect a Porsche to be delivered with such easily detected issues. And I did make it known to the dealership GM.
Mine is doing the same. The car thinks it's 2 miles off from where it actually is. I even drove it around a little and the map shifts with it (i.e. stays 2 miles off). I tried the nav and it thought I was different roads than I was on, tried to tell me to turn where there wasn't a road, etc. GPS detects movement correctly, but the software isn't translating that to the correct map location. Even the app is showing the car in a different location than it is (a good way to tell if it's still messed up).

Many settings in the car that rely on location data are grayed out. And the speed limit indicator is missing.

The Assistance Systems Error seems to be just a symptom (missing correct road data so it's making itself unavailable to use). The cause seems to be the location services being messed up. This message pops up just for a few seconds before the Assistance Systems Error that stays. The car seems to think it's in the wrong region.

I noticed mine not recognizing speed and n the highway but as soon as I pass an unoccluded speed sign that went away.

However, today I woke up and need to do a long drive and the “speed limit error” popped
Up. It’s a new one for me on a day when I’d be using adaptive cruise control. So I am back to being very frustrated. Yes, I tried all the things to reset. The bugs and n my car are unacceptable for a vehicle of this price. Adaptive cruise control isn’t a new thing and I don’t want error lights on my dash.

My car is very clean, the temps are well within normal ranges.

Lots of cars have a mix of suppliers in their systems. It’s no excuse. Porsche needs to wake up and realize this is totally unacceptable. My old gas Macan never had these kind of problems and it had similar capabilities.

I tried doing a factory reset yesterday, but it didn't fix it. I hoped it would do more but it doesn't seem to affect internal car functions at all, just the PCM stuff. It's basically just a PCM reboot that also wipes out all your settings/accounts. Which then requires an hour of work to log back in and get all the setting back where you want them.

Waste of time.

I was also hoping there was a way to activate "dumb" cruise control, but I'm not finding it. I tried changing it from Adaptive Cruise Control to OFF in hopes that would turn off only the adaptive part, but nope, it deactivated CC altogether.

That's something I really appreciated in my Mach-E. When the sensors got blocked by ice or bugs during a drive and ACC kicked off, I could easily change the setting to regular CC and not have to wear my ankle out.

Yes exactly. Porsche has no excuse. They’ve been doing it for years in their cars, plus they are part of VW AG and have that entire ecosystem. These are rookie mistakes in a premium vehicle and are flat out unacceptable. Drivers shouldn’t have to have these worries on their dashboards constantly. It’s not a good driving experience to continuously see errors and lose basic functions.

Contrary to what AI bubble lovers are preaching software engineering is very complex, and good software engineering is pure art form.

After CARIAD wasted years on trying to develop a "common" platform that turned into a pure disaster, now VW is shifting CARIAD from an innovator into an...integrator.

The problem never was lack of engineering potential...it has always been mismanagement and trying to apply MBA "principles" to software engineering. Layers upon layers of "management" structures that need to justify their existance.

Long story short Porsche is on the receiving end of this, like everyone else within VW group, with a click-of-death baked into the profile selection screen!

Your observations may be accurate but as a customer, to me, it is irrelevant. VW, Audi, and Porsches have had reliable adaptive cruise control in the past. I have owned those. This should not be an issue in 2026.

I wouldn’t be surprised if many people in this forum aren’t software engineers. It isn’t a dark art anymore.

You have to look beyond the curtain before walking into a dealership and understand the brand. Its high and low points.

14 years on (since my first Porsche) and the rear view camera still sucks...

Do I trully care? No.

Why? Because flooring it outshines all the usability

I used to switch from adaptive to dumb and back often, I'll have to review the steps again. I think they were posted here months ago.

I think you press the button at the end of the CC stalk until the assistance mode is displayed on one of the cluster tubes. You can then toggle adaptive on and off or assistance on and off. Off is dumb cruise on is assisted (IAW adaptive)

Hmm, I'll have to try that. I didn't use the stalk button, just the PCM menus, but in OFF I couldn't get any CC. Maybe the stalk button has a different menu.

I was so grumpy this morning because of those errors. They cleared a couple of hours later. I had a great drive. I don’t like being see sawed between happy owner and anxious owner but when it’s working it’s an absolute joy.

It shouldn't matter how you access.
