Ah, that awful warning. I had it many times in my car before they repurchased it. Apparently they needed to replace the high-voltage charging system below the rear seats because of this. The issue was that it took almost 4–5 months for them to assess it, because they kept saying, “it might be your charger,” since it only appeared occasionally. If you unplug it and plug it back in, it might charge as normal, but that doesn’t mean the issue is gone.

I had many other issues, and I’m not the kind of person who just agrees with everything if I feel something isn’t right. So I basically forced them to reassess it with Porsche AG, and thanks to my real helper at the dealership (the head of service), he helped me actually argue against Porsche for a viable solution because it happened so many times (sometimes at intervals such as once a month).

In short, this isn’t normal and you need them to diagnose it. Do not under any circumstances let them make you think it’s just an occasional issue (of course unless it only happened once and never again).

what EVSE are you using? have you factory reset it? is the car limited to 3.8 kW on other EV chargers?

To help diagnose the issue to see if it’s a supply related, what’s the voltage and amp of the supply? Have you got a screen shot of the app when charging?

These chargers have load balancing technology so if the supply is short or it’s having some sort of handshake error it will balance power delivery.

In the UK a domestic power supply can deliver 240v at 32amps. Thats a theoretical delivery of 7.68kw (more commonly we refer to them at 7.5kw). If you were in the UK, I’d suggest you’re working at 16amps if you’re capped at 3.8kw and that could be a something a simple as a setting that’s changed on the device, a setting that’s changed within the car, a power supply issue or it could well be a hardware fault.

Assuming you’re US and also capable of 240v beyond the nominal supply of 120v, then the above may apply to you.

If it’s holding steady at 3.8kw, I’d image it’s a software (setting adjustment or otherwise) as opposed to hardware, but the car maybe capping power for safety reasons.

the warning said "visit workshop" - seems like a dealer service issue to be diagnosed.

I have a Grizzl-E Duo Charger as i have 2 EV's
The other car charges fine with 9.x kwh on either output. So it's for sure not the charger.

then it's the car - most likely a fault with the OBC - dealer service for diagnosis and repair…

yes for sure. around the same time i had plenty of errors. I am sure it is hardware related. m As i tried to reset everything i could on the car. There are loud sounds coming out of the corner drivers back end near the charger plug. Sounds like a compressor sound. only happens during charging. After that sound the error occurred
