I am considering a Macan Electric (4S, specifically) but am moving into a new building with a robotic valet parking system with a maximum vehicle height of 64 inches. The Macan specs say the vehicle height is 63.9". Am I asking for trouble?

I know I should not tick the box for roof rails, and should probably stick with smaller wheels. With Smart Lift, I think I could I do the opposite of what most people do entering a driveway and lower the vehicle when entering the garage. That would give me some more cushion (and peace of mind), assuming it works reliably and that I can be assured that the vehlcle will stay lowered until it's returned.

thanks!

You should check with the robotic valet company, 64 inches appears too low as most of them accommodate higher vehicles than that. They also offer customized solutions for a fee.

The garage is designed with two height clearances. Mine would be a 64" clearance.

This is what 22" wheels and Normal ride height looks like.
I wouldn't count on the height level always staying low but if you can verify that smaller wheels at normal height is less the 64", you'll be in good shape.
Although that first time is gonna be harry! :crying:

Not entirely sure, but tyre circumference stays the same for 20 to 22 inch. Worth checking.

I also think that the wheel size changes but the overall tire size is similar. The sides of the tire get smaller as the size of the wheel increases, right?

Thanks for all your replies. You're right that in theory tire diameter stays the same with different wheel sizes, and interestingly there is consistency across tire brands (per Tire Rack) the 20" and the 22" Conti CrossContaxt RX are the same diameter (30.1"), but the 21" Pirelli Scorpion MS is 30.3". A 0.2" diameter difference would impact vehicle height by 0.1".

The bottom line seems to be 1) overinflate, and 2) put the air suspension in Low or Lowered every time. Very helpful to learn that Smart Lift will only raise and not lower (I guess that's why "Lift" is in the name).

I believe when you turn off or turn on the vehicle the ride height will default to normal. There doesn’t appear to be to save ride height other than the raised setting for certain locations.

When you turn on the car, it will still be in the height position the car was in when it was turned off. The shocks/damping will immediately go to normal however... When you start to drive, (i dont know the amount of time or distance, but it's not immediate), the car will default back to normal height as well

My experience for the past 8-9 months that I've had my Macan 4 is is that it stays where I left it. I drive almost exclusively in LOW and NORMAL and every time I get in the car it's low and normal. What's funny though is if I do any other combination - next time I get in the car it returns to normal/normal.

According to the manual and all the experiences above - mine should not do this, right?

I would love this car so much if it had any consistency whatsoever.

Smart Lift will not lower the vehicle, it will only raise it. Lowering would need to be done manually.
That's what I found too, unfortunately. That really sucked. Thought it would be perfect for lowering the car at home to make it easier to get in/out of these deep-set seats, but it doesn't give you that option. It's only UP, not down.

You can save ride height in the drive modes other than NORMAL, but NORMAL adjusts itself automatically.

And when you park the car, drive mode returns to NORMAL when you get back in for the next drive. At least it does if you used the steering wheel dial to put in Sport or Sport Plus the last drive. I don't know if there's a setting to make it default to another drive mode.
