I drove a Rivian R1 - it was every bit a Bronco level vehicle - all the good that entails and all the bad that entails - at the end of the day I'm not a "truck/SUV" guy so Rivian is not a vehicle for me.

unless it has less "truck" and more "sport/comfort" I'm not their audience…

if you want an EV Bronco Rivian is your JAM!!! It's truly and excellent replacement for a Bronco class vehicle!!!

NOTE: I really really want to emphasize the rivian is not bad - it's a set of choices they've made to make the best off road EV possible and meet all the requirements that entails - I don't want that class of vehicle with or without an EV or ICE drive train! But for their market/audience the Bronco/Rivian are world class vehicles for their niche!!! If that was me I'd probably own 2 Rivian's…

R1 is a body on frame truck but has air suspension
R2 is a unibody on steel springs

Agree, Bronco stuff with all the gaps and good luck with the electronics.

I drove the R1 SUV on a test drive…

it was like navigating a battleship in a small canal in the Safeway parking lot where I took over driving - getting on Hwy 680 south in the east SF Bay Area - it did ok on the clover leaf but felt like it was about to tip over given the high center of gravity - and it trundled onto the freeway letting me know about every bump and undulation…

truck like ride is an understatement - and again not my personal choice for a daily driver SUV.

The R2 is gonna sell very well... basically gonna replace all the model y's and x's that ppl were planning to buy until ...
