They ended up giving me a Macan ev loaner after a month with an ice Macan that was given to me still dirty with dirty wipes in the center console AND they didn’t even bother cleaning the snow off the car when I picked it up.
So instead of spending a few dollars a week on hydro, you were spending $100/week with an ICE Macan. That sucks. Also, I no longer like driving an ICE car anymore. So I’m sure you felt the same way while you were driving the loaner.

A Porsche technician came yesterday to my house with another Macan 4 with the same update I got on my Macan 4 and they couldn’t charge either. He said he will pull the error code and talk to Porsche NA. Let’s see where this goes.

Hmm if they can pull error code from their vehicle why couldn’t they pull the error code from your vehicle for two months? 😂

Yah I have absolutely no clue why they needed to come and test another car when they should know it’s a software issue.

Yes, they replaced the central charge box but that didn't resolve the issue.
My dealer just texted me and said that they're going to change the charge box for one of the cars that's not charging as instructed by Porsche Canada and their ticket with Germany. I have a feeling that isn't going to work because it didn't work for you 😆

Yea, that’s not gonna work. If I were you I’d just pick up my car and take it back once there’s a new software update.

  • Year and Model: 2024 Turbo
  • Your Location: Calgary, AB - Canada
  • Charger at Home: Porsche Mobile Charger & Grizzl-E Classic (Porsche supplied)
  • Charging Port: Passenger Side
  • Timeline: Following update installed Dec 4
  • Troubleshooting Steps Taken: Place of employment provides unlimited 15A AC (3.2kWh) charging. When using passenger side charging socket, app reports 1.7kW charging with message in app advising of abnormal low charge rate. Using same cord in drivers side restores charging back to 3.2kW. Drivers side charge port is my 'new' preferred port due to this anomaly but on a few occasions when the passenger side has had to be used, I have seen the full 3.2kW a couple of times leading me to believe this is a vehicle based issue rather than the EVSE. No other users of these chargers report similar charge rates fluctuations, further pointing to the vehicle since the update. Home charging using both charging options yields charge rates as expected from both charge ports. Not sure if it's related but the powered charge port door drivers side now randomly opens when unlocking or opening car, also since update.
  • Current Status: Waiting to see if any revisions to the supposed update actually improve things before booking it back in.
Have you noticed your charge port door open randomly still? I noticed mine open when I opened the trunk, without me touching it. I have the automatic charge port doors.

Well, I still have my car. They're going to change it on another car.

Ok, that appears to be a different part. Hopefully it works for you.

Haven’t noticed it in a while but that said, the charging anomalies I was seeing got too much so it got booked back in. Scan found errors on charging control unit and corrupt code. They’ve reprogrammed it and tested it for a couple of days, so fingers crossed just back to the regular bugs running rampant. They did do the seatbelt recall whilst it was in and fitted the clip retainer to the drivers side, which makes all the difference not having to fumble around down near the sill to find the buckle now!

What I’ve noticed too is when I take my car to a car wash, the charge port doors open even though the doors are locked and then it gets all wet inside. Did you experience this before as well?

You could try leaving the key fob in the vehicle, as it sounds like you’re wand washing the car. I’ve found that helps a little, but once the charge hatch does open, it seems the torrents of water from the wash are attracted there! There’s drain holes so I’m not too worried and it’s no real difference from it filling with rain / snow when it’s charging.
