They had a number of promotional walk around videos of the GTS from Dubai and Spain with a few well known car reviewers flown in. Why did Porsche not let them drive the GTS. Dubai temperatures are probably the most suitable for Evs anywhere in the world.
Yeh its all quite unusual , the GTS has arrived at dealerships ahead of other cars like the new IX3 which have been driven & reviewed - strange

Most first reviews for the Macan EV were from the European and the US journalists.
Letting them do it in just Dubai and not in Europe and the US where traditionally it is done, would be considered 'discrimination' by many journalists, I guess.

Porsche are unlikely to give their GTS models to journalists for reviews in this cold weather for obvious reasons ;)
They did the same when the Macan EV first came out. All reviews churned out in better weather early summer :)
They typically send them to either Spain or Portugal for this where the weather is typically much better.

I suspect the tests have been done but not signed off for release.

GTS is just another variant of an existing Macan EV - no fanfare as such.

The neueclasse IX3 is a brand new model line hence the hype, glowing reviews and 2026 already a sell out year.

I've had both a Cayenne and Taycan GTS at launch to little press fanfare. The reviews were predictably positive when they surfaced.

The iX3 is brand new, not just the model line but in every aspect, including a revolutionary new interior design which is pioneering a whole new generation of BMWs. It's BMW's most important model of the last 30-years.

The Macan GTS is just a new trim level of an already existing model.

My Car arrived at the dealer yesterday, now need towait till Thursday to collect it.
The only thing they missed the 4 zone climate option, they are now seeing if this module can be ordered and installed :( If not I will ask them to upgrade to drive assist from ACC
Salesman sent through some photo'
I've got 4 zone on my Taycan. Didn't spec it on the Macan. If similar then the likelyhood of a retrofit is zero. It would most likely need a new armrest. Something the dealer either would be reluctant or couldn't do. 4-Zone has an additional screen. I generally have the kids in the back so I electronically lock the rear. This also locks out the climate controls in the rear. Nice wheel colour choice ;)

Yeh I get it, maybe the iX3 isnt the best comparison. Regardless Im really excited to hear about this car and how it drives. Ive only actually test driven the base rwd, quick enough as a daily and really liked its handling - hope Ive not made a mistake by going for the GTS instead.

FWIW, I thought the Taycan GTS (facelift) was also low-key. I didn't know it had happened when it did.

Sorry I can't provide in depth feedback. My experience consist of a 15 min drive on a dual carriageway from collecting to home. Car is currently at the detailers. My initial thoughts prior to receiving would be it would sit between my Taycan Turbo S and the Mrs ICE Macan GTS (now sold). After that short drive I am of the same mind. Mine is running on 22in wheels with RWS.

we'll see, you never know these days what is possible. Thanks for the comment on the wheels, I thought the car needed something being all dark to make something pop a little, seems to work nicely, to me.

Tip top mate!!!! I'm wondering how hard it will be to keep them clean, I see there is a product called Q2 rim, which is supposed to be a sealing coat for the wheels and caliper, have you thought about this kind of thing?

I have always had my wheels and calipers ceramic coated. Make cleaning them much easier.

10-4. on ceramic coatings for those applications. I speicfically use CarPro CQuartz DLux on my wheels and calipers. It is designed for high heat applications. Been using it for seven years. Makes cleaning road grit and brake pad dust easy. Also put it on my wheels, and all my exterior plastics, rubber, and metal trim. Designed for all those applications too.

Avaialble at Amazon.

Anything with SiO2 in it will help, usually they are wet application as well. Spray on and rinse off.

Gyeon Wetcoat is a great product. Cheap enough to use on every occasion though one coat should see you through an entire summer if topped up with good quick detailers.

Just be mindful of application on the wheels (discs will need to scrub it off) and it’s not as durable as a ceramic coat despite the ‘ceramic’ titles thrown at these products.
