Are you expecting better because it's a Porsche? 50% over three years is a perfectly normal depreciation curve, even for ICEs.
Of course there is. That's human nature. I've owned three electric Porsches, and they've been largely trouble-free. I didn't go online every day telling people they're...
In my Macan Turbo I get a real-world range of around 330km (205 miles) in winter, and maybe around 370km (230 miles) in summer. This is at a cruise of 120km/h (74 mph) on the motorway.
I have 22" RS Spyder rims.
The iX3 is brand new, not just the model line but in every aspect, including a revolutionary new interior design which is pioneering a whole new generation of BMWs. It's BMW's most important model of the last 30-years.
The Macan GTS is just a new trim level of an already existing model.
The WD-40 didn't actually solve the problem and it still exists. I've isolated it to one buckle in the rear. I know it's this one because if it comes on I can reach back and tap the red release button and the chimes will stop. However, it's sporadic and I'd rather avoid taking it to the dealer...
The owner's manual says the following about that section of the PCM. It doesn't explain which coloured dot does what:
Status symbols:
displayed when an app accesses location services, microphone, etc.
Display data connection and connected devices.
We've been through this discussion before with W1NGE. Wheelbase is what counts when discussing RAS, and he failed to appreciate the Taycan and Macan EV essentially have the same wheelbase.
He has RAS on his Taycan and claimed it was "probably worth having" on 12th Feb, despite the fact that...
Using the terms "optimistic" and "pessimistic" is just a way of saying it has over-estimated or under-estimated consumption. It's not meant to be a description of the car's emotional capacity to judge numbers.
When I post my full data which takes into account actual energy fed into the car...
Not really. There are times when it is exactly correct, and times when it is out by a large amount.
If the odometer was incorrect, then the same error would be repeated, but it isn't. Sometimes the trip computer is optimistic. Sometimes it's pessimistic.
Charging doesn't come into it. The...
Which is what I do, but effectively you end up with two consumption figures. One figure which shows the consumption of the car as it consumes the energy in the battery. And another figure which also includes the energy lost while charging.
I'm a nerd when it comes to driving data. These are the figures after every charge. There are some outliers where I've only driven for a short distance between charges, but the indicated consumption can be anywhere between exactly correct to nowhere near.
I guess my question should have been "who cares about charging losses?"
If I drive 1,000km, start and end at 100%, and add up how many kWh I took from the grid, that's all that matters. Those figures include charging losses.
For example, let's say by calculating at each stop what percentage of...
Why can't you measure charging losses? If I start with 100%, travel 1,000km over several legs, then charge back too 100%, I know exactly how many kWh of energy it has taken to travel 1,000km. That takes into account charging losses.
All the people in this thread reporting their consumption just referencing what's reported in trip computer:
IT MEANS NOTHING!
Unless you're going to report *actual* consumption, manually calculating energy consumed, distance travelled etc., then it's pointless. It's as pointless as taking...
Given that I've already told you I'm not commenting on Porsches in general and the global reliability rate, why are you telling me this?
Your position seems to be, "other people aren't having problems, so stop whinging about yours", which is bizarre.
I never claimed that Porsche is the most unreliable manufacturer, period. I was talking about within my own experience. I even highlighted that it was just my own experience by highlighting the words in bold, yet even this is seemingly lost on some sensitive souls on here. It would be a pretty...
As a data point, I've owned 22 cars over the last 23 years, all but two of them from new. I've had 12 BMWs, 7 of which were M cars, 3 VWs, 2 Audis, and numerous other vehicles, and I simply haven't had anywhere near as many issues as I've had with my three most recent Porsches (two Taycans and...
