I received my Macan 4 S volcano grey one month ago, and I had the biggest problems to use my wall box
Porsche recommended to mount it, by a recommended Porsche electrician, but I preferred to call my own electrician in whom I trust.
He mounted the wall box, the light was white, as recommended, the setting correct, but I could not made it work on my Porsche or my BMW tourer 2 of my wife.
After calling my dealer, they told me that it was a because it's not linked via ethernet. So I called back my electrician, and he built a line for connecting the box. The box seems to be linked via internet, but I get the same result : no charge.
So I called back my dealer. He told me to check (or my electrician) the setting. That's what I did, and the setting were alright.
Finally after investigation (kudos to the Porsche guy) he discovered that the cable that is delivered by Porsche is only 16 Amp. This cable was working with an other box of mine, in an another garage, and It worked also, in an external AC charger (22A)
So I bought an another cable, and finally : it worked !

I Find irritating that Porsche offer a 16 amp cable with such an expansive car. It's petty
I juste wanted to share this, in case people meet the same problems

Bizar I have tested my cable that came with the Macan and I can charge at 11kw … it is a heavy thick cable …

Mine is not thick at all
Perhaps not the same cable in Belgium and France, or a specific cable for the turbo.

Just euro things ... When renting a car in Europe I noticed it came with a charger "extension" cable, and apparently the reason is that charger boxes don't have a fixed attached cable; you have to bring your own. In the US, the boxes all have a fixed cable and the car needs to carry nothing.
To be fair, though, when the vehicle brings the cable, it probably cuts down on copper theft ...

That's weird. The cable that came with my Macan 4 delivered earlier this year is also rather thick and heavy. Seen it charge at 11 kW the few times I did AC charging when not at home. But that's 16A per phase on a 3-phase supply.... My WB at home has a permanently attached cable (saves a cople mins when leaving in the working not to have to fold & store the cable :-D ) so I can't comment how the cable supplied with the car handles single-phase charging at more than 16A.

Should still have worked but at 50% throughput.

The network connection is not required either per se.

Normally there is a choice of 16A or 32A EVSE to car cable on the configurator.

32A is the standard cable supplied.

Suspect your dealership may have swapped cables on you - worth a challenge.

What evse do you have - send a photo of the back were the details are (Porsche part number)? Can then use this to check what cable(s) should be supplied with it).

Only public AC EVSEs aren't tethered and hence the requirement to have a cable.

All DC EVSEs are tethered.

I think the cable in question is the one supplied with the EVSE and not the public cable.
