Porsche AG and my own dealer. It has been in shop for 3 months due to it. I even have it documented by mail from the head office in Sweden if it helps.
That's outrages. Hope you got a nice loaner. Fingers crossed you get your car back soon.

Thanks mate! Yeah.. sadly enough I got a car that doesn’t have functions that I find pretty foundational in my own car (Rear-axel steer, insulated glasses, innodrive, keyless etc).. which is a bummer tbh.

MY 26 is realistically still 3-5 months away from being at dealerships.
True. Dealers still have allocations for MY25 as far out as Nov/Dec delivery that I have seen, so 5+ months is more realistic for MY26.

I placed an order for a 4S two weeks ago and being told Feb delivery so if there’s build slots, it must be for specific trim levels.

As my UK dealer is sure there is no ā€˜September update’ coming for UK cars I wonder if the update is for only US cars in order for the superchargers announced today To be in Porsche Charger database. Today’s announcements says 2026 cars will come with the update and 2024 / 2025 cars will receive the update gradually.

The cars dont need a full software updates for charging stations to be added, I regularly see new ones appear in the navigation system.

I’d agree. I’d imagine we would see MY26 hardware available and landing before we see a software update to suit.

I believe there will be a MY26 update to configurators on 7th September in the UK as they are teasing more 911 models. Potentially 992.2 Turbo/S and GT3RS. This is probably where the confusion lies.

There could be a generic OTA update? Could also be just the fact that’s getting largely confused as something bigger ie the MY26 builds that happens to have some hardware (potentially) and software revisions to permit some of the new features.

Just find it difficult to foresee Porsche offering for example a digital key (if hardware allows) as a remote upgrade before the MY26 cars land.

Look at Apple, they release software and hardware mutually exclusive.

I can’t speak for those things but two dealers in Sweden have said the same thing including the HQ - There is supposed to be a big update (not OTA) that should be finished from week 36 for the MY24-25 to address different software issues. So I think we’re talking about two different things. Nevertheless it is delayed indefinitely.

I agree that the locations are probably not hard coded into the software. However, the press release does say there will be a software update for current cars before the end of the year, to update the charging planning. This could be bigger than just ā€œadd some more locationsā€ and may take some supercharger specifics into account like adding to network filters. The press release also mentions support for plug and charge, so that may need a software change to the EV.

It looks like there are two stages - soft launch where you can simply use the locations as generic charging stops, and a software update where better integration will be available.

This soft launch will allow customer access the Tesla Supercharger network ahead of the full operational launch – with enhanced features such as access via the Porsche app and plug & charge capability – following in the coming months.

Model year 2024 and 2025 Macan Electric models will receive this software update before the end of the year

I don’t think this announcement has anything to do with that one way or another.

There could be other things in the update they refer to, or not, but to describe everything in that update would confuse the topic of the press release.

It does seem the update may only apply to cars your side of the pond. I trust my dealer to be well informed and they are sure there isn’t one scheduled for UK cars. Hopefully we’ll learn more about it soon.
