The language on the 3rd dial on my instrument panel has defaulted to German. Not sure how or why. I'm sure (hoping) this is an easy setting change but I can't find an option anywhere to change it back to English.

The language setting for the car is set to English and all other information is displaying in english - it's just this 3rd dial that's now presenting in the default language.

Can anyone point my in the right direction on where you might change this please?

This "feature" appeared on the Taycan for the first few years and most notably on NAV for searching.

There is only a single language and time setting.

It will sort itself out - lock and leave for a while might reset.

I did wonder if it would revert to English after a period – in the same way it just appeared in German without switching. I didn't want to go through the hassle of a system reset so I'll wait and see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

You're kidding right? surprising it did not set its destination to Poland (Clarkson joke / not meaning to offend anyone).
Try a soft/PCM reset (with the car on, press the volume/mute button and keep holding it until the screen starts coming back to life slowly; on mine I get the time showing first etc.)
This will not delete any of your settings.

EDITED: The above does not work as it only resets the central touchscreen, the instrument cluster is completely unaffected.

I tried this reset on a loaner Macan EV Turbo after seeing the original post / video - it did not work for me after many attempts (and much patience) at trying.

You may need to do a factory reset.
If that doesn’t work you may need to try Duolingo! Jk :)

You are right, it does not work as it only resets the central touchscreen, the instrument cluster is completely unaffected, will edit original post.

If you mean to reset the central screen, it does work as described, I have done it a few times on mine, but there is no way (at least that I know of) to reset the instrument cluster. I am sure there is a fuse for it (don't know which) or removing the negative pole of the 12v battery should do it (if accessible beneath that access cover).

Nuclear option as per Taycan is to temporarily disconnect the 12v battery to cold start all 12v systems which will include PCM, instruments etc.

OP did but as indicated doesn't reboot the setup glitches the instrument cluster where the issue is.
There are discussions about how rebooting the PCM doesn’t reboot the instrument cluster, but not about doing a system factory reset. As I said, I would first try it as it tends to fix most of the system setup’s glitches. You just have to make sure you do it in an area with good cellphone reception (not deep inside a garage) before you start the process and that the time and date synchronizes before you finish the process. There are threads here discussing the process in detail. The only downside is that you have to reprogram the garage doors and redo your personal settings (I usually take pics of the tiles setup of both the native and CarPlay so I don’t have to trust my memory).

12v battery shimy is a lot simpler and quicker.
