Porsche reports Q3 2025 U.S. retail sales

Electric Macan EV Macan EV Sales Numbers Up Through Q3 2025 (Porsche reports Q3 2025 U.S. retail sales) 84346-141bc5748771b178628d9390be6f18c6

Porsche reports robust delivery figures despite a challenging environment

Electric Macan EV Macan EV Sales Numbers Up Through Q3 2025 (Porsche reports Q3 2025 U.S. retail sales) 84345-6fc3faef92ea0d0b3f909e79ac0811c9

There’s finally some good news for Porsche when it comes to its electric vehicles, with the electric Macan on track to finish the sales race ahead of its internal-combustion counterpart in 2025. Porsche has published its sales figures for the first nine months of the year, and while overall numbers are down compared to the previous year, the Macan’s performance is up – and most of those sales are for the electric model.

Porsche said it sold 64,783 Macans worldwide over the nine-month period, up 18 percent from the same period a year earlier. Impressively for Porsche’s electric ambitions, 36,250 units, or more than 55 percent, were the battery-powered variant. The picture was very different in 2024, when the ICE Macan accounted for 64,517 units for the full year, compared to 18,278 electric Macans. However, the much lower EV total was largely due to the model’s mid-year launch, as 2024 marked the first time the electric Macan was available.

Yep, unlike the narrative we seem to hear - the problem is not EV adoption, it’s China, and now unfortunately the US — these are the major concerns for European carmakers. In Europe and the rest of the world EV adoption is going along just fine.

well...everyone but the US is accepting Chinese EV...who dominate.
I've seen other analysis stating that the traditional MFR's are struggling because they're late to the game...and with current political climate going backwards...that's just going to encourage the traditional MFR's to sit on their hands some more

The gas only cars are down in July-September, but the Taycan (all EV) and Macan (some EV) are up.
What was that about the "Porsche is done with EVs" video? :-D

(FWIW, I'm one of the crazy people who'd rather have a Taycan Waissach than a 911 Turbo. Just sayin'.)

the problem for porsche but not only porsche is china. (-26%)
You should see Audi's China figures...

European brands are being slaughtered in China. Competition is fierce and quality is either up to par or pricing is so attractive consumers just don't care.

i do not think "quality is up to par". as carmaniac said: "you will know the difference after the first curve."

Pricing makes up the difference I guess. Sales are falling off a cliff for EU brands.

this is nothing new. especially in the us. but europe is catching up very quickly. for the last ten years not one us product in shops like home depot or lowes or any furniture store not to mention wallmart. this is europs future too. we have to spend on "western" products. its for quality its for jobs & prosperity.

The US is a special case, it's profit at all cost and a plutocracy. It has dug itself into a hole that I'm not too sure they can come out of, but thats a discussion for beers in Vienna or Munich one day.

From a pure market position, there is 450 million of "us" in Europe. There are 1.5 billion of "them" in China. It's a huge market that EU manufacturers, especially Porsche, should be growing into, not losing ground by the day.

Where the item is made is important as well, but from a competitiveness perspective, something has tipped the scales in Chinese brands' favor. Consumers there are simply preferring local brands (BYD, Geely, NIO, etc). I doubt all of it is "Make China Greatest Ever" rhetoric. Could be pricing; manufacturers are going bankrupt constantly in China due to "how low can you go" pricing wars.

Porsche needs to turn the tide or risks losing a very big market, the same way the US lost the EU market decades ago.
