Wireless charging for iPhone 17 Pro Max?

Just upgraded to iPhone 17 pro max and seems to not work in wireless cradle- while my 15 pro max did. I think it’s because of the new camera bump on the phone. Won’t work even without a case. Has anyone been successsful?

Interesting… I have a 17 Pro Max in an Apple Techwoven case and it works fine. The only orientation I have tried is camera bump towards the passenger seat (US).

My Air charges fine with the bump facing towards the left side - in the UK - the passenger side. Works well.

It’s strange because my wife and I both got iPhone 17 Pro Max’s and my phone charges fine everything single time and her phone doesn’t. Maybe one out of ten times her phone will charge without the error. I don’t know if it matters but I got the blue and she got the silver.

I'm having a similar problem (2025 4s Ev). It is with a samsung z fold 7. Only tries to charge one out of ten attempts. I would greatly appreciate it if any one can share a potential solution.

when I try to charge my 17 pro, in a silicon case with a magnet ring embedded in it, it works for about a minute then reports a fault about not putting metal in the tray and terminates the charge until I remove the phone for a number of minutes....

Even though it doesn't seem that legit of a site, I was wildly impressed with my charger from here:

It essentially covers the existing wireless charger with a magsafe puck instead. Looks far more OEM than you would expect.

I decided to quit fighting it! I bought a small round magsafe charge. Fed the cable down the hole and plugged it in the ports below. Problem solved. No guessing if it is in the right place.
