Just received the VR28.13 update, which was supposed to fix the random failure of all assistance systems.
Having the update installed for three weeks now, the random failures of assistance systems (usually in heavy, slow traffic) still happen.
Also, since the update my iPhone gets disconnected from time to time randomly, which did not happen before the update (at least not so frequently as after the update).

You will receive an OTA update pretty soon for the CarPlay issues. It’s updated after the 28.13 installment.
Sorry to hear you have so much issues with the assistance systems. Looking at this forum there seems to be a couple problematic ones and people with hardly any issues at all. (Including me) I sometimes have a white warning but that is on a known intersection and also had that in my E-tron but also Tesla’s (for example) are complaining on that point as the previous road is deviated away on top of a former road so probably GPS is ā€œlostā€ at this point. But the message does not interrupt anything. All assistance systems are online and continue to work.

In the past 4 weeks I’ve done 5500km in my Macan without any issues whatsoever. So you should definitely go back to your service center and make some noise about your issues.

Unfortunately you can’t. You need to ask the dealer.

I'm scared to ever take mine (Aug Delivery) in because so far I've head just simple glitches that fix themselves within seconds or minutes. I have a post where I complained about the loss of the music audio channel, but since then (2 times Aug/Sep) it has never happened again!

Edit. Nevermind, happened two days ago! 😭. Though getting out, walking away far enough to auto lock, pick up food (30sec), then getting back in, fixed it.

I had the 28.13 update installed a month ago and so far it appears to have resolved the frequent Assistance Systems Limited warnings that used to occur. The only remaining issue I’ve experienced is the speakers not working a few times, but it resolved itself when I lock the car and returned about 20 minutes later.

For me, the way I know (I think) that the software update has been installed is that 5G is now displayed on the main screen. Plus, under system setting, then about the android version is now displaying 10 March 2025 (previously dated as 8 May 2024).

Originally, my car went in for its software update on November 10th at my local dealer (Stockport) who thought it was successful. However, in the following weeks I had various new intermittent issues, with no 5G. The dealer then advised in very early December that this update had been postponed, due to the amount of issues others were experiencing, but he arranged for a second attempt later for December 22nd and since this update, everything seems ok, except that I can't get my mobile contacts up on the main screen and have to use Android Auto for my contacts, an alternative method for now.

Unsure if this update has been authorized/updated in the UK, but as mine was a re-attempt, it was carried out.

Was unsure where to post this as there a number of threads on this similar issue.

My iPhone (15 Pro) used to disconnect/lose data from wireless CarPlay from time to time whilst another family member with the same model doesn’t. I was told by another owner that his was fixed through a software update but I didn’t think it was worth the effort/time. I’ve since changed to the latest gen iPhone and the problem just disappeared… so maybe it’s the phone and not the car ahaha

Brought my 4S back to the service department to address the two aforementioned issues which occurred after the latest software update. Apparently there’s a newer version of the update they installed last week which is supposed to resolve these remaining issues.

This is probably why the 28.13 update was temporarily put on hold late last year. Unfortunately my paperwork does not provide the version number of this newer update.

I had assistance system issues that the dealer traced to misaligned sensors that were throwing codes. So if those persist, and you believe the software is up to date and working, make sure the dealer is checking the hardware.

This might explain why I was called in twice in pretty quick succession end of last year, for software updates. I also got a new parcel shelf and a passenger seatbelt gadget.

I consistently have 5G and no issues with the phone connectivity. But I’m still getting assistance systems unavailable a lot, I’ve been putting this down to the weather though. Will keep an eye on it though after reading this thread.

.... But I’m still getting assistance systems unavailable a lot, I’ve been putting this down to the weather though. Will keep an eye on it though after reading this thread.
I thought the weather was a driver, but in the last two weeks we have had wild weather swings from -20c to +9c and the same assistance feature errors light up the dash. I thought it was dirty sensors, and was cleaning them at every trip, went through a bottle of Windex and there was no difference. Sometimes the error would even go away after not cleaning the sensor, after parking for 15-30 min.

There was no logic to how and when the errors would present, closest I could get to a pattern was something between 5-10 power cycles would trigger the errors for another 5 or 10 power cycles and then repeat (I didn't carefully document this, it's more how it felt than what I could prove).

I have been diligent about recording if/when driving into the sun and parking facing into the sun for when the sensors start to misbehave, no change. Our sun stays low this time of year, but no matter the time of day same 'random' pattern presents.

I gave up today and rebooked but I have to wait a month before they will get me back in with a loaner.

Hopefully something clicks, and a real solution is found. The sensor alignment thing is something I will ask about.

I dropped my 4S off this morning for some follow up work from December when I was told the software update had been done. I spoke to the engineer who said that they hadn’t actually done the software because as said above, they were told to stop while my car was in. He said the issue was to do with locking, I think he said some cars were showing as locked when they weren’t or something.

I would not use Windex to clean the camera lenses. I suspect they are made of plastic, and the ammonia in Windex can dull plastic. Use dish soap instead.
noted. Looks like I should recoat the lens :) I was going to do that this weekend anyway.
