I have tried to find a way to force the Sat Nav to use main roads. It always uses narrow country lanes rather than major roads. I’ve tried forcing it by using a stopover on a main road but it just keeps trying to get me to use the lanes to get there - presumably the shortest routes. I’ve tried looking at alternative routes but it then just offers different lanes. It also nags when I ignore a turn off and offers an even narrower lane. I want to use the PCM Sat Nav not Maps or Google or Waze. Anybody know of a setting I am missing ?

Very recognizable and I also had this problem when I recently spent three weeks in England. It drove my wife crazy because every time the navigation led us to super narrow roads. With high hedges of course to make it even more confusing. And so narrow that you hope not to encounter anyone. But that’s in vain… Some are polite like the English used to be, but others come at you with ridiculous speed.

Ultimately, we found a solution to choose a different route ourselves by clicking on several additional places on the screen, allowing us to choose a longer but less dangerous route.
Beautiful country, but the potholes and the coarsening of English road users make it less attractive. Where has the English courtesy for tourists gone...

Had this problem in Cornwall last weekend (narrow lane routes, not rude drivers). I tend to only use Porsche nav when I need a refill en route.

Yes, the same and drives me mad - it will take me down the tiniest roads and right now so many overgrown that they're actually narrower than the car. The sides of my Macan are covered in tiny scratches from overhanging thorns and branches after a visit to Devon a couple of weeks ago where it was either that or reverse back a mile or two :(

It even picks the tiny roads when the alternative on the main roads is +0 mins!!

One of the reasons for this sat nav behaviour is because most of the narrow / minor / single-track lanes are rated to 60mph. Some of the 2-lane more major roads can be restricted to 30 or 40 mph, hence the sat nav takes you along the "quickest" route. Just be careful of those lanes that have grass growing in the centre of the single lane, there be dragons......

Thanks for the responses. Although, I had hoped I was missing a setting somewhere. I think it is illogical that you have an option to avoid motorways but not B Class or lanes.
I have introduced stopovers but then the time to destination is to the next stopover, not my destination.
I‘ve a feeling Porsche use Here - I had the same issue with my Range Rover which used Here. The only upside of the RR version was it included speed cameras, albeit not probably updated since Pontius was a Pilot.
