I am wondering if it is possible to have the suspension lower automatically for entry/exit, to make it easier to get out particularly (without brushing your legs on the side sills).

I don’t think so and Porsche Active Ride (PAR) is not an option yet on the Macan EV (It might never be).

Ride height is already high so no real need to drop on ingress / egress (Taycan benefits if PAR is fitted as it is much lower and tricky to get in / out of).

Well, Macan sits quite high, and shorter people have to 'slide' off the seat to touch the ground ☺, so lowering would be nice. An X5 with air suspension can be lowered, it drops ~40mm I think, and it makes a bit of difference.

Are you saying the Macan with air suspension has no manual control, only the drive modes where the car decides the height?

My understanding (from demos I've tried), is that yes, with air suspension, you can adjust the suspension height via screen menu on demand (not just via the driving mode), or via buttons in the boot (to help with loading/unloading)... I believe you can also set the ride height via GPS, so the car 'remembers' to set a certain height in certain locations (useful for entering parking garage, dodgy bit of road, or to help with getting folks in/out at a particular location).

Now the GPS setting to lower would be very helpful, thanks for the info. I'll check that out with the dealer.

So if you have air suspension then the obvious thing to do is to set the suspension to a lower setting before you exit. After exiting the car should (my ICE Macan does) return to normal height mode.

There are 6 user selectable ride heights - Off-road II, Off-road I, Lift, Normal, Lowered, Low.

Check the Owner’s Manual - Chassis Height.

I had a play with this, you can set a location to raise the height, but as far as I could see, not to lower. So the only way I can see is to select sport mode as you pull up.

Nope, add the widget for Chassis to the My Home Screen in PCM and you can simply tap level desired.

Not sure there is a widget mind for level rather than drive mode which would suffice.

I usually just turn the knob on the steering wheel to “sport plus” when parking, if not already on.

I see, would that then lower to the lowest level? (sorry, I have never had a Porsche, so not familiar)

Again read the manual - Smart Lift is the feature as per all cars with air suspension. Works extremely well but is typically for raising the car’s height when traversing and automatically remembering the GPS co-ords of speed bumps (speed dependent to activate).

I read the manual, and Smart Lift says you select the level, so I read that as I could set a low level at a specific location, i.e. 'Smart Lift' is a bogus term, it should be 'Smart Level'? Am I reading this incorrectly?

Yes, you can go from off-road (highest suspension) to sport or sport plus (lowest suspension), just by turning the knob on the steering wheel. Not automatic but very simple.

If you're talking about the Macan EV, yes. I have a 2024 model (took delivery late September). You can manually change the suspension height if you have the air suspension, standard in the U.S.

On the panel, click the car icon, under Level, select the appropriate option.

For my 91 year old mother-in-law, Lift when she's getting out, and Low when she's getting in works great.

The automatic Smart Lift thing is cool, but I think it's only for raising the vehicle. Could be a cool opportunity, Porsche?

Yes you are reading incorrectly.

First appeared on the Taycan and I used it to remember locations where there were speed bumps - works really well and only raises the car and then returns to the previous setting if continuing your journey.

To use simply approach the location (slow down), tap the feature and it will store the location, then raise the car. Next time at same location the car will automatically raise without any intervention.

Porsche may call it different things but Smart Lift was the genesis.
