Hi everyone,

I’ve just joined the Macan forum after spending quite some time on the “sister” Taycan forum. I’m currently driving a Taycan RWD (Neptune Blue) and I’m now very close to placing an order for a Macan GTS.

I really enjoy the driving feel of the Taycan, especially on twisty roads, and while I know the Macan is a bit more about practicality, I’m confident the GTS will be the right balance for me.

This is the configuration I’m about to sign — happy to hear your thoughts or feedback: https://porsche-code.com/PT5C87J2

If I’ve missed any forum etiquette step (intro, etc.), feel free to let me know and I’ll gladly take care of it ;-)

Looking forward to exchanging with you.

Shopping for GTS as well, so some feedback:

- Drive Assist: you cannot get active lane keep without it
- Bose: if you want the quality to be like AM radio poor
- Manual Charge Doors: high chance of them not aligning with body
- Thermal Glass: you will have a lot of unbearable wind noise without it
- Wheel Size: I understand that 22s look better, but the drive will be very harsh even in Normal
- Trim: Personal preference, but have you seen Carbon in person, looks like shiny plastic. My preference is GTS intended theme in Black Brushed Aluminum that is solid, not glossy, and has great texture that you can feel and does not scratch having it in Macan GTS ICE for 2 years now.
- Accents: have you considered Silvershade, that gives nice and subtle contrast.

I am speaking from firsthand experience such as:

- Lots of owners who did not option Drive Assist complained why ALK (active lane keep is missing)
- I drove RWD, 4, 4S, and a Turbo with Bose and regardless of source the sound was terrible
- 2 out of 4 I drove that had manual doors; the doors were warped looking not matching the body
- I drove a Turbo without Thermal Glass on the identical stretch of highway after driving my Taycan with Thermal Glass just 30 minutes earlier, and I could not stand the wind noise. Plus, keep in mind the doors are frameless, so regular glass is so thin that it is flimsy at the top.
- I drove the same Turbo on 22s and the ride is just too harsh with GTS setup to be even lower and tighter, so while I do not love the 21s, that is the way to go if you want more low speed city and high speed highway comfort
- Same Turbo had standard Carbon bits that look and feel like cheap plastic, just shiny.
- Silvershade: I have it on the Taycan and personal preference over plain black Accents, it looks too bright silver on the configurator but in real life, it is just a little more into grey vs. solid black. Can take my Taycan pictures if you would like.

My build code is in my signature if you want to compare to your build.

Base Taycan to a GTS Macan - quite a leap.

13 new cars for sale. in UK and 1 2nd hand (I know) in less than a week..

Bose should be absolutely fine but on the Turbo and 4S I had as loaners wasn't the best for reasons I don't quite understand. No where near as good as the Taycan implementation.

You do not need insulated glass IMHO.

All of the above cars have been specced with 22" rims which personally is a mistake and has been done with cosmetics in mind. Only one has leather and the rest have the GTS interior. As a consequence these cars are "too expensive " - perhaps that's why 13 are listed when normally there would be a queue.

If you must have 22" then get them satin black and not anthracite.

Artic grey rather than carmine red.

Cherge port doors have been problematic the Macan but I think this issue has been resolved.

Crayon would be my last colour choice but entirely personal decision.

Comestically, would allign the wheels to trims (black). Would also take the Artic Grey stitch for the interior GTS pack instead of Carmine.

Driveability, I would consider the exchange of 2d surround view and the comfort acess for the 3d surround view inc comfort access. The kerb view is beneficial (I also see benefit of the reverse assistant for the wifes parent's house - long unlit drive way). I'd choose Drive Assist for the volukme of driving I complete (and did). I'm also a big fan of HUD but its not essential imho.

For safety, I'd consider adding rear side airbags if you have a young family for extra safety.

Hi Cédric,

Nice combo! Is the pack 'Overfeel' still valid for orders after 31/01/2026?
The only remark I have is the steering wheel in race-tex, for a daily car it will get dirty no matter what.

With regards to wheel size, I would say really depends on where you live, so what the roads are like. In the Netherlands roads are really good so didn't hesitate ordering the 22's

Personally, I'm a big fan of the Head Up Display. This is an expensive option, but it is also my number one favorite feature. You spend much more time inside your car than outside.

Bose has been good enough for me, but this really depends on how important music is to you (and frankly how good your hearing is). The older you are, probably the less value you'll get out of a higher end system that is hugely more expensive.

I have the power charge port doors and mine needed some adjustment on delivery, but have been fine ever since. The best reason to have the power doors is they never get in the way of the charging cable path. However, the power doors are riskier than the manual doors and I'd say it is the one decision that I'm 50/50 on. I accidentally jammed the driver side charge port door on the charging flap one time, but was able to use the Goodbye display to free it. The WSJ0 software update will enable operation of the charge port doors also from the MyPorsche app.

Rear axle steering has also proven very valuable over time.

Thanks a lot everyone for the very helpful and detailed feedback, much appreciated.
It’s not always easy to make the right choices, but that’s also part of the fun.

Not 100% sure about the 22" wheels - some roads are really bad in my region. That said, I will order a winter set in 20" or 21" for the potholes season 🙂.

Quick question: on a factory GTS, are the following satin black as standard?
  • The rear badge
  • The GTS logos on the front doors
I see most configurations with black wheels, so I’m more leaning towards anthracite, especially since it’s a GTS-exclusive color. I also think it works well knowing my winter wheels will most likely be black.

Understood that it might be too many colors (anthracite, satin black, high gloss black). I should perhaps revisit my choices.

Thanks again for all the insights so far.

Satin black gloss for lettering and badging.

On the configurator click standard specification and then external design.

Anthracite won't look right and so satin gloss black for the wheels IMHO. It was the same on the Taycan GTS and I went for the bat mobile look on mine with satin gloss black RS Spyders. Gave a totally homogeneous look and feel.
