Seems that's the way it has to be.

I’m generellt very happy with our Turbo after the latest update, but my main concern is the lack of updated Map data and espacially the speed data. It is not the speed sign regognition - which works most of the time but as many previous owners reports suddenly the car breaks due to incorrect speed data. Did compare the Porsche map to Google maps and also Waze, and the tlatter two reports correct speed.

I'm currently driving a BMW X1, my wife has a Mercedes E Class. I also had several rental cars from various brands in the past 2 years. All of them had at best 95% correct speed limit recognition (outside of cities).

I don't have the Drive Assist in my 2025. But, I did have it in a loaner I had when I was getting the WSJ0 update.
Our beltway has been under construction for years (and years to go). There are those electronic speed limit signs that show the 45mph when they're working. The car ALWAYS reads the 45mph wrong - it comes up with 65. That's a Porsche feature - my 2026 GT3T does that, too.
The loaner I had, had Drive Assist enabled and changed my cruise control setting to the 65 (where I had set it to 50). That's just plain stupid. So, I learned to turn it off and was glad I didn't get it. I also told the Service Advisor that I thought that was a safety defect.
