Yes, a new hardware specifically for the battery that got bricked while doing the sw update.
I'll keep everyone updated.
Do you have a name or a hardware part name I can ask my dealership about? Maybe let us know when you get the repair report after they fix it. Thank you!

I apologize if I replied to the wrong person, this may have been intended for @lukine. Again, I’m sorry if all this has been tried. Just trying to help.

I’m not sure it’s a serious hardware issue with your vehicle. If I have followed this thread correctly, you only have problems charging at your home. Otherwise, the vehicle charges at Porsche and anywhere else. And other vehicles seem to be able to charge at your home with your charger. That also seems to rule out a problem with your house electric system. It appears that there is a software bug that is not allowing to complete the communication between your charger and your car. I would consider doing a factory reset on your vehicle. And if that doesn’t work then ask Porsche to lend you one of their mobile chargers to try at home. Those are simple and cheap solutions if they work. Please forgive me if I didn’t get the facts correctly. Just trying to help. I wish you luck on your ordeal. Also, consider trying a different dealership if not happy with the current one. I have found that some Porsche dealers are more customer oriented than others, even in the same city. I had the same feeling with other brands (BMW, Lexus), so it’s more of a dealership than a brand issue.
We already tried with different chargers as well as resetting PCM. I can DC charge at electrify Canada infrastructures, I AC charge at other people’s places, I just can’t charge at my own house. As far as going to another dealership goes, next closest one is an hour drive away from where I live. So it’s not the most convenient. So I’m stuck with this one.

The weird thing with my car is that it charges at two of my friend’s homes, using my own charger. It just won’t charge at my house. No matter what charger I use, it won’t work at home, but works elsewhere. How can we explain that? If it’s not a voltage issue, then how do we explain the issues I’m having?
Porsche mobile charger?

Porsche mobile charger?
Yes. I brought my Porsche mobile charger to other people’s homes and it works at their place. The Porsche general manager also took my car to his house and it charges at his house. Not sure what charger he uses though.

Maybe I missed it, but have you tried another charger? If not, try and get another one, I assume you're using the Porsche one - maybe the dealer can lend you one to test?

Also; it might be worth having an electrician actually look at plug wiring and breaker, make sure its all wired correct. You could have a floating neutral or some other strange situation. Can't be more than a couple hundred to have it checked.

suggest you abandon the Porsche Charger and just move on with your life

Tesla Universal Wall Charger
ChargePoint Flex

or some other high quality EVSE

there are now two variables in this charging saga

your Macan
your Porsche mobile charger

the Porsche mobile charger has a sorted history and isn't that great of a charger…

if your Macan charges with another EVSE @ your home - I would suggest you simply ignore the Porsche Moible charger and get on with your life…

Yes tried different charger, also already hired electrician to check wiring and main panel circuit breakers. Everything is good, it’s grounded properly.

But it doesn’t charge with other EVSE either. I tried using a Grizzl-E, and my friend’s lucid charger. Both failed.

@lukine if you do end up getting a new charger, these guys tend to have stock in Canada and easy to get.

The Best Home EV Chargers by Grizzl-E | Canadian Made

I use one from Autel, as I wanted the faster than the included charger, but the Macan maxes out at 9.4 vs the 11kw - but also works flawless. The grizzl-e one gets great reviews, very well-built metal cases etc.

Thanks for the info. I know about the Grizzl-E as that’s the one I tried at home. It was loaned to me by Porsche. Thanks for the info.

it's not voltage - it's most likely a neutral or ground issue - but EVSE's don't use the neutral

I'd have your 240V circuit checked out - breaker swapped and maybe the NEMA socket replaced...

you could also see if hardwired EVSE works - having an electrical install a hardwired EVSE on your existing NEMA 14-50 circuit should be easy and not that much money and check out the breaker and wiring during the process…

I don’t know how, but it appears that your vehicle may be blocking the charging process based on the location. I would turn off WiFi, but I’m not sure how to disable the cellular connection. If you have not tried, I would suggest doing a factory reset (not the same as a PCM reset). That fixed stubborn software glitches in my car. Alternatively, try disconnecting the 12v battery. Some owners recommend that to fix software issues. However, I have no experience with that.
