Innodrive way smoother (!)
Yellow car at startup dissapears sooner
Can you comment any more on these specifically?
  • The yellow car where?
  • What makes innodrive smoother?
    • Innodrive acceleration
    • when braking
    • in response to other cars? (I find it brakes excessively hard when the car in front brakes)
    • Lane keep assist? e.g lane centreing improvement? (not hugging one side, in some situations it does this)
I'm looking for any updates I can add to this thread to better document the changes included in this update. There are a few reports of Innodrive improvements elsewhere, but without a direct comparison pre & post update changes remain subjective. Same goes for reports of adaptive suspension comfort.

Changing gears: better response
This f***s me off no end when manouevering - I would say its as high as 1 in 2 times, the car does not shift into reverse even after forcefully pushing the damn lever all the way upwards, yet the car still remains in drive and then without knowing you lurch forwards instead of reverse... Honestly embarrassing!

I believe the 'yellow car' is the one icon on the lower mid dash, when you first start the car, I think its forward collision system indicator (but I could be wrong).

Currently, it stays on for a while until you drive long enough, then it goes away.

I don't believe there is ANY improvement to this, the warning light for this seems to be on for the exact same amount of time as before, and any improvement to this is a placebo.

Sometimes it was on for 5 minutes, now hardly over 30 secs. So far for your placebo.

I think it has to do something with faster / improved calibration after a cold start.

I experienced the same with the gears. It’s a miracle I didn’t bump into anything.

As far as the innodrive, lane keeping assist (with the green steering wheel active) is far less bouncy from line to line. Braking / acceleration didn’t trigger me.

I can with 100% certainly tell you that not any one example (mine or yours) proves anything. It's not a personal challenge to your experience. This is why started my sentence with "I believe..."

I have not had the forward collision yellow light at startup improve in any way that is notable. I can drive for 3 or even 4km (upwards of 5 min in residential streets) after leaving my garage - before it turns off.

If you're hitting the freeway soon after you start your drive, maybe there is a difference (or read that as a different start to your drive), it could explain your experience being different.

Changing gears: better response
5G instead of 4G
Yellow car at startup dissapears sooner
Air suspension is quicker, auto lift at home
Less to none white / yellow warnings
Auto-lock when ac charging more consistent in locking
Side question....I notice that innodrive is no longer in the configurator. It looks like it has been replace by an option called "driver assist", yet in the discription this new option appears to have more capability. For example the new system seems to signal you when you can change a lane and activily offers that to you where as I think the original innodrive did not do that. For people who spec'd innodrive did this (or will this) be upgraded to the new driver assist capability or is innodrive now a legacy system limited to a subset of driver assist capability with no upgrades planned? I googled this and did not find a definiative answer.

Update on my car - the dealer tried to upgrade to the latest software version that is supposed to fix the issue that was failing the upgrade and it’s still failing… they will escalate to Porsche Engineering… anyone else is experiencing that?

My car has been at the dealer since December 5th.
Seems the update bricked one or many of the car's computer.
They had to escalate the matter to Porsche Canada to get permission for certain interventions. Nothing solved yet.

Hi FrediBee, I am also based in Montreal, and my car is at Porsche Prestige as we speak. It has been there since last week when my car decided to lock both charge ports for fun. It is at the dealer for the charge ports, the usual right-rear rattle (hatch) but also for the 3 Porsche updates:
1) the front passenger side buckle rattle
2) The rear cargo cover
3)The 28.13 update.

I also have a Macan 4 so I will let you know if there are any upgrade issues with mine.

I would hazard to guess that right rear rattle is the rear hatch latching mechanism lubrication issue that I had . once they lubricated the latch the rattle went away. They can always check with the Victoria BC service center if they need to.

Just picked up my car, and the update to 28.13 happened, but there is a note saying that the upgrade for the compressor failed, but it worked after a second attempt. The rear hatch rattle is gone! They saw a TI 5587 (or 5578? I left the paperwork in the car) that is related to rear-hatch rattling. They had to adjust the rear hatch twice and now there is no more rattle. The seat-belt rattling fix was not implemented since they need to order the part.

As for the charge port doors, there were no faut codes or issues. Both doors started opening without any intervention. They were either frozen (not likely as there was a day of +9 Celsius), or the car just released both doors after a few resets. I didn't think of trying to remove the 12V but I'll try that if it happens again. Either way, I am glad to have my car back, and will keep an eye on any funky stuff that might pop up. The only settings that were reset were the theme and interior ambient lighting.

Would you mind pointing me to this document? I have the rattle, and they have tried one time already to correct it... I am not aware of this document you reference but would like to have it handy for my next conversation with the dealer. I have to go back as I am constantly getting the assistance systems error and headlight system failure, with the occasional cross traffic error.... it seems to be about every 5th power cycle of the car.... its back to as bad as it was before the update, and the marginal improvement I saw when first done has vanished.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, sorry I only have the notes from the dealer saying that they first looked for any known rear-hatch rattling issues, and that they found the technical directive from Porsche: TI-5587 . They said they followed the procedure in TI-5587, drove the car to hear that their adjustments improved the rattling a bit, adjusted it again and finally eliminated the rattling. There is no information on what TI-5587 says but it sounds like it has the adjustment procedure to follow. Hope this helps!

It's a start! thank you.... I googled it, and nothing comes up which not unexpected. I am booking my appointment right now; hit my breaking point with the other issues (assistance systems dash lights/offline).

Thanks
