I've had my car for almost a year now and haven't had a single error message. Reading the stories here, it's quite unique. I'm hesitant to update the car because everything has been flawless for the past year, without a single software glitch. So, I'm going to skip the update for now.

What noticeable improvements are you seeing?
Innodrive way smoother (!)
Changing gears: better response
5G instead of 4G
Yellow car at startup dissapears sooner
Air suspension is quicker, auto lift at home
Less to none white / yellow warnings
Auto-lock when ac charging more consistent in locking

I was in the same situation (no errors), updated to VR28.13 within the first week and the dealer reported the update went very smoothly.

I was in a similar situation. Had the update over a week ago. No noticeable difference. Air suspension feels a bit better though (or might be just my feeling).
My only gripe is the preconditioning through the phone app. I often get the message “unable to connect to the server, please try later”. But nothing even later, and later. This usually occurs when the car is sitting idle for over a day or so. No improvement there, even after the software update.

By the way, a recall is not optional. They will do it when your car is in for service or something, and they will do a seatbelt patch and replace the parcel shelf too.
I even told them not to do the seatbelt patch as I have already sorted it out, but they said it's a recall issue and I don't have a choice.

D and R. When I operated the lever, it wouldn’t change gear in 2-3/10 attempts. Now just 1/100 that the gear is not properly selected (sticks in N, or doesn’t respond at all).
Makes sense - I never had many issues with that gear/drive selector, but I have noticed that on occasion it doesn't register the change, especially going into park. I have only had my car for 2 months now, and about a month after delivery had the 28.13 update, so not sure if this is better or worse than before this 'update'.

I think they are suspending the upgrades because its a waste of money, I dont belive its fixing enough things to warrant the costs of deploying it.

I am getting much less driver assistance problems, but its still not great. Hypersensitive to light frost, sunlight and sometimes for no reason at all still. Reduced but not gone.

For me, the radio system specifically XM, is significant worse with not powering on, and working than even before the update.

So far, I feel this 28.13 'update' didn't do much. I think there is a halo effect when you first get it, then after some time, issues return, less, but still way to often.

Gonna drive the car some today to see if the update they did yesterday changed anything. In the mean time I'm taking some steps to reduce some of the frustrating bugs. There's 2 of us that drive the car, thus frequent switching back and forth. Some of the quirks seem related to switching profiles back and forth. So we'll stop doing that. I deleted the 2nd profile. Now both drivers will use the same profile all the time, and use the door buttons every time to change seat/mirror positions (they rarely worked automatically off the fob-linked profiles anyway).

We've also logged out of the 2nd person's app account. Both drivers will just stay logged into the primary user's account. Doesn't seem to be a problem yet to have 2 phones actively logged into the same account.

In my case - they have suspended it as it bricked 2 cars. I suspect that somebody tinkered with the update to ‘improve it’ and caused the issue. Alternatively, it may have been an issue with the servers and only partially installed. Whatever the reason, my dealer is refusing to upgrade any more cars without HQ telling them what the issue was that caused it as they have cars sat unable to return them to their owners.

Noob here, picked my car up 1 Dec, and its going in Monday for non-functional GPS and the driver assistance non-functioning messages mentioned in another thread. How do I know what version of software I have? I'd like to know before the car goes in so I can determine if an update was part of the service.....thanks.

There is no known way to confirm the version yourself (currently). You can ask the service department to show the version numbers in their update tool, which they did do for me.

Fair enough. My salesman is active on this forum (he told me about it) so I'll quiz him or have him quiz service about it on Monday.

When I picked mine up, they gave me the standard receipt paperwork that details what service was performed. It clearly listed the VR28.13 update as one of the items.
